"Alright, places, people! We're starting to film the dorm room scene!" The director, a lovely looking woman with blonde curls, announces, and the cast moves to take their places. In this scene only three people are required, so the rest of them quickly disappear to their trailers.
Fancy. I'd love to have my own trailer someday.
Anna waves me over to join her at the screens, which I obey quickly. Besides filming in a few commercials for shampoos and a cleaning product, that didn't actually work, I've never been to a professional movie studio. I've also never seen the behind-the-scenes. This is more interesting than I've ever imagined it to be. All I've ever thought about was from the actors perspective. Turns out - directing, producing or even assisting the producer is way more interesting than being the actor itself.
Andrew and Nicole take their places on the small one-person bed in the made up dormitory. Andrew looks composed, and, suddenly, he looks more... cold, I'd say. Is that a part of his role?
Nicole has transformed completely. Now she looks more like the angel that her face wants her to be like. She's wearing a summery white dress with black butterflies, that reveals her shoulders. Her blonde, amazing hair is made into soft curls and I can't help but envy her a little bit. How can a girl look so, so beautiful?
"Emma, dear, can you grab a notebook from my trailer? Oh, and a pen, too. Your task will be to write down any ideas I have, or any corrections I think of, that I shouldn't forget." She smiles at me and I feel a jolt of excitement rush through me. So this is it! I'm officially going to work.
Her trailer is easy to find. It's immediately to your right as you exit the filming studio. It's the same one we were at yesterday, but today there is another word on the door, right next to Anna's name. Mine.
"No way." I gasp, feeling my knees turning into jell-o, as I take this in. For a long time I've hoped and prayed, that I'd get a job in the movie industry. So many of my auditions got rejected, but "Skyforger" finally broke my spirit down. Thank God I didn't leave immediately! Thank the Lord! If I left, without calling mom and hesitating to leave, I would've never met Anna. I would've never had this job, or any job in the movie industry. Maybe only in the adult movies industry, but that is not my ambition exactly.
I go up the small stairs and enter the trailer. It still looks just like yesterday and my heart does a cartwheel, when I realise that this is also my trailer now.
On the small coffee table is placed a pretty notebook with the image of coffee being poured into a cup on the cover. It makes my mouth a bit dry, imagining that I am drinking coffee, but I quickly shake it off, and, grabbing a blue pen on Anna's vanity, I jog back to the set.
"CUT!" The director snaps, and I quickly slide in through the door, happy that I won't be disturbing the shoot.
Anna is now sipping coffee, and I wonder briefly if I should've offered her coffee earlier, since she is my boss, and part of my job is to assist her, but, as I sit down next to Anna and she smiles warmly at me, I decide that she'll just ask me, if she wants something to drink. It doesn't look like she's angry, anyway.
"Okay, so..." Anna takes a long sip of the coffee. "Write down that Andrew and Nicole should be more expressive. There is something in Andrew's eyes that doesn't convince me that he is so in love with Nicole. Well, Thalia, not Nicole." She giggles.
Trying to write as neatly as I can, I quickly copy what she just said and then look at her, when I'm finished, only to see that she's looking at me with a smile. "I'm so glad we get to work together, Emma."
Overtaken with emotion, I choke up and can't get a single word out. Anna is just the best. What did I do to deserve such an amazing job?
"Andrew, take a break. Nicole, you're up for a single shoot." Director instructs them and Andrew takes off his leather jacket, that he definitely didn't have before, so it must be his character's thing. Maybe he's portraying a bad boy? That would explain the coldness and the black badass clothing.
As I'm wondering about Andrew, his eyes shoot up and find mine instantly. Though I feel frozen again and even a little bit ashamed that he's caught me ogling at him like this, he winks at me and there is even a small smile on his perfectly shaped lips.
My cheeks instantly heat up. No. No romances allowed.
"Okay, and write this down, too..." Anna crashes my train of thought and I once again listen carefully and copy down everything she needs.
