"What's the surprise?" I eagerly ask, as I jump up-and-down in the back seat of his car. I've tried this question a lot of times now, but the answer stays the same - you can't know yet. Okay, I get that it's a surprise, and the whole aspect of it being a surprise would be ruined, if I knew what the surprise is, but I just want to know so badly. I've never really been surprised in a romantic way, not even by Marcus. And the fact that I need to sit in the back doesn't help to maintain my excitement by this romantic gesture.
The drive to his house isn't long, only around fifteen minutes, but they seem like the longest minutes in my existence. When we stop, it's quite dark around the neighbourhood, and I can't see anything outside the car. The lights in the car don't help, too.
Andrew gets out of the car, but, when I try to get out, he stops me by gently placing his hands on my shoulders. "Not so fast, babe. I'll need to blindfold you so you don't peek earlier than I allow you to. I had help on this surprise, so I don't want anything to ruin this moment for you."
My heart beats faster and stronger as Andrew's fingers caress my cheeks and hair. He ties a silky black sleeping mask around my eyes, and all of my other senses immediately act up. The smell of his car freshener mixes up with Andrew's scent, almost making me drool.
"Sit here for a second, would you?" Andrew breathes in my ear, and then I can hear his footsteps moving away from the car. There is a faint sound of paper rustling, and then I hear Andrew's footsteps again. At least I hope they're Andrew's. The thought of someone else kidnapping while my boyfriend is trying to make a surprise, makes me shudder.
Thankfully, it's Andrew, as his voice rings in my ears again. "Are you cold?" Without awaiting my answer, there is a sound of fabric chafing against fabric, and then a soft jacket appears on my shoulders, the sleeves touching my palms. I'm already wearing a black jacket, which is made more for the early fall than winter, but Andrew's jacket is warm and nice, and makes me shiver in happiness. "Ready to go?"
I nod, excitedly awaiting what's gonna happen next. Andrew takes my hands into his big, warm palms, and leads me out of the car and towards the surprise. I am a little hesitant to move, since I cannot see anything through the blindfold, and I don't want to fall and break something, destroying Andrew's romantic surprise completely.
We have to walk pretty far. Well, maybe not that far, but it seems a long way, when you're blindfolded. With every step, I try to scan the area with my remaining senses, and soon my nose fills up with the smell of some sweet-smelling flowers and a faint smell of.. smoke?
"Andrew, is something burning? I smell smoke." I inform him, worried that something's gone wrong, and his house might be burning down, but, for an answer, Andrew just chuckles, and continues to lead me towards the smell.
After a minute, Andrew leads me to my left and we pause. I still completely, obediently waiting for Andrew's next order. What's gonna happen next? Are we waiting for something? Can I take the blindfold off? What's going on?
Andrew's fingers trace their way up from my fingers to my face, speeding up my pulse and my stomach tingle. The things he can do only with a touch. He finally takes off my blindfold, and I see that his lovely face is now illuminated by a soft light.
As Andrew steps to his right to reveal the surprise, my breath hitches. His beautiful house is on a small mountain, and the whole mountain is covered with white candles. They are all placed in glass containers, so they don't burn the whole house down, but they look magnificent. There must be at least a thousand of them, and they make his house look like it is out of a fairy-tale.
"This is...amazing." I search for the right word, as I take in the look in front of me. Andrew places his hand on my waist, and pulls me closer to him. With his other hand, he throws my hair over the shoulder, exposing the left side of my neck to him, where he starts to plant tiny, wet trails of kisses, making me shiver in pleasure. "Thank you, Andrew."
He stops kissing my neck, and raises his head, to look me in the eyes. "I love you, Emma." I'm just about to melt in a big, happy puddle, but Andrew starts to lead me inside, making me a bit sad that I have to leave all of this pretty view outside. Not everyday someone surprises you like this.
The inside of his house if gorgeous. This isn't a mansion, but there must be at least four bedrooms in this house. The whole aesthetic of this house amazes me. The main colours seem to be white, beige and a sandy colour, and they absolutely look perfect together. We both leave our boots in the entrance hallway, where two large closets for coats are. There are also large mirrors glued to the doors, so I peak at my handsome boyfriend in the mirror, as he takes off my coat, and hangs it in the closet on the right.
Andrew ushers me further inside, and my breath hitches once again, when I notice that there are also tons of candles in the living room. "When did you...manage to light all of these? It can't... be in the time you made me sit... in the car blindfolded." I ask him, struggling to complete the sentence, since my mind is thinking at least twenty different ways right now.
There is no response, so I turn to look at Andrew, who has magically disappeared. I turn around to face the living room again, and almost freak out, when I notice Andrew standing right in front of me. When did he even walk past me?
Andrew is holding a very beautiful and familiar bouquet of flowers. The same bouquet that was meant for me on Anna's birthday, but I had to give it away, since I didn't have a present for her. I love that Andrew even remembered it. I was so bummed out that I had to give it away, but now I have it. And I absolutely, completely love it. I only love Andrew more than this bouquet.
"Oh, Andrew. Thank you. You didn't have to." I whisper, as tears start to pool up in my eyes. I take the bouquet from Andrew, and wrap my free arm around his neck. He curls both of his hands around my waist, and holds me close to him, remaining silent for a second.
I feel Andrew's heart beating against mine, and, as his hand slides a south my back, I feel the tingling in my stomach return. Raising my head from his chest, I pull his head closer to mine, and plant a kiss on his lips. It starts off as a steady, calm kiss, but somehow it erupts into something a lot, lot more. I feel Andrew's tongue dart by my teeth, asking for permission, and I embrace it fully.
Our tongues entwining together in a passionate dance. I let Andrew's tongue explore my mouth, and mine does the same in his mouth. My fingers find their way into his hair, and gently pull on it. When a pleasant moan escapes Andrew, I realise how much he really likes it, and pull even harder.
Andrew lifts me off of the floor, and carries me up the stairs without even looking. On other occasion, I would be freaking out that he's gonna fall and that we'll both break our necks while tumbling down the stairs, but my mind doesn't want to focus on that right now.
Instead, it concentrates on the bulge in his pants, that's making itself known more and more with each kiss we share.
Andrew's bedroom is on the left side of the stairs, and it is gorgeous. There is a king-sized bed right in the centre of the room, a tv attached to the wall right across the bed, a desk with a fancy computer on it and a comfy couch with fluffy pillows on it. This room is around the size of mine and mom's room connected, but my eyes instantly focus on the bed. It is covered with a grey comforter, but the laundry is completely white, reminding me of a hotel room.
Setting me down, Andrew takes the bouquet from my hands and places it on the light wooden table. There are some papers on it and stationary, but I don't get to admire it, as Andrew has already picked me up again, and is now carrying me to the bed with eyes full of love and lust.
And then we get lost in each other.
