"Gramps?" I asked the moment I opened the door. "Hello Mini. I've got your next job."
"Okay." I was ready to grab the file when Rafael took it before me. "We are working together on this one Mini." He said without looking at me. Johan could feel the tension between us. "Um grandson, Mini I wish you both luck." "Thanks gramps." We both replied before glancing at each other. This would definitely be awkward. "M-I-n-o-m-I-!!" Jack screamed in the halls. Rafael and I both stopped. Jack hugged me from behind. "You're alive!" "Yes I am." Rafael gave Jack the death glare but sighed as he continued to watch the scene unfold. Jack tugged on my cross necklace. "Don't ever take it off Min! It's my gift for you." "Yes. I won't take it off." Rafael coughed. "Tomboy, we need to leave. Our hunt is far from here." "Coming." I pushed off Jack and waved. "Watch over my sisters." "I will wifey." Rafael stopped. "She's not your wifey. She's no mans property."
Jack stopped and looked up to Rafael. "Oh yeah! And who are you to say that."
"Rafael Belmont, your Senior, and This Tomboys first kiss stealer."
The last part shouldn't have been mentioned I thought as I rubbed my eyes. "You what!"
"Enough you three!" Johan said as he stood in the door way. "I can't do my work with three rascals arguing in the halls." "Yes Grandfather." Rafael put his hand on my head and started walking while motioning me with his hand. "This isn't the end of the conversation." Jack said before he stomped off the other way. I puked Rafael's hand off my head. "You didn't need to say that to Jack." Rafael smirked. "Oh is he your lover?"
"No, he's like a brother to me. He raised me." Rafael smirked. "See. No problems there then."
"Rafael. What if other people heard. They'll think you're drunk."
"I kissed you, I'm not going to hide the truth am I."
I looked up to him and sighed. "They will think you like me or something."
He stopped at that moment and yanked me forward to him. I could feel stares from other Belmonts in the academy. "Then what does this say?" He kissed me again. He let go and continued to walk. "Don't lag behind, catch up Tomboy." I didn't know what to think. My heart beat faster but I had to ignore it and do my job. I followed behind. "Tomboy." "Hm?"
"Don't you have anything to say?"
"About what?" He shook his head. "You're too quiet." I shrugged my shoulders and whistled for my horse. My horse came running, it's black fur sparkled in the sunlight. "Bella, you're such a good girl." I said as I pet her before climbing on. "Bella, that's you're horse's name?" I watched Rafael get in his white horse. "It's cute and girly. So unlike you." "You got a death wish Rafael."
"Yes if a kiss is the death sentence." I rolled my eyes. He was really teasing me. There's no way Rafael liked me I thought as I followed behind him. "What is our next hunt?" I asked a bit curious as he read the files. "We are hunting a group of Vampires this time. The Coldwells."
Coldwells were known for leaving their victims inside of wells. I always feared them when I was little and Jack would tell me about this Vampire family. They were a huge family. So I'm guessing we are hunting one of their smaller family members. "Coldwells, which city have they been attacking?"
"Your Hometown Minomi."
I felt my heart sink when he said that. "My hometown you say."
"Yes, the village reported weird disappearances of the villagers, later they were found in the fountain."
"I see." I caught up with Rafael. He smirked. "So Minomi, will I find embarrassing stories of your childhood?"
"No, the only thing I remember about my childhood is my family dying before my eyes."
His smile faded and he lowered his head. "I'm sorry about that, I never knew why Jack took you in. I just knew.." "it's okay, let's not talk about it." Rafael looked up to the sky. "I also lost my brother. He was torn apart by a Vampire named Shredder."
I heard about the Vampire named Shredder. He was a vampire who always tore apart his victims while they were still alive. I knew this vampire, cause he was somehow connected to the vampire who murdered my family.
Rafael ruffled my hair. "Luckily I cut him down myself years ago." It was late, when we finally stopped by at an inn. I followed behind Rafael. "Could we get two rooms please?" I asked confidently as she looked over me. From what I could see in her eyes, she thought I was shameless for wearing pants. "Sorry ma'am but we only have one." Rafael smirked at me. " we'll take it." He said. He pulled me from my jacket towards the room. "Rafael don't get silly ideas."
" no need to worry Tomboy." We walked into the room. He smiled and motioned for me to rest. "What about you Rafael?" He smirked. "I can stand guard,unless..."
"Unless what?" I asked a bit startled.
"We share the bed."
I burst out laughing. "Hah in your dreams. Stand guard all you want."
I hopped on the bed and closed my eyes. This was probably the most awkward thing I've ever done in my life. Sleeping in the same room with the guy I think I like. He chuckled. "Tomboy. I want to sleep too."
I opened my eyes and glanced at him. "Make yourself comfortable in the floor." He chuckled. He sat at the corner of the bed. "If I say I want to sleep on the bed. I am." He said as he pulled off his boots. I kicked his back. "No. It's not proper." He smirked. "Never imagined I'd hear that from you Tomboy." He jumped on the bed and looked at me. "So Tomboy. Either you get off the bed or stay right where you are."
I looked into his blue eyes. "I'm trying to rest, so I'm staying right where I am."
"Okay. Mini." He turned his back to me, and I turned around as well. I really did hate his way of teasing me. The next morning, I woke up in a tight hug. "Rafael what are you doing?" "Oh just giving my darling a good morning hug."
"Who's your darling?" I turned around to look at him. His blue eyes locked with mine. "You are." "Stop teasing me." "I'm not teasing you. I legit like you Minomi, you've been pushing me away with those cruel words."
My heart started racing. No, I bet he's teasing me again. I sighed. "You don't believe me do you Minomi." "I'm used to your teasing."
"I'm not teasing. How do I prove it to you?"
He did sound serious but my head didn't accept it. " tell me, what you think of me?" I said a bit curious and wanting to feel special. He leaned a bit forward. "I love your tomboyish actions, I love your brown eyes, I love the black hair you carry on your head, the way you speak, your beliefs, you're everything." He said this as he got closer to me. My heart raced faster. He put his lips against mine. I pushed him away. His blue eyes looked hurt, as if I rejected him. "Why do you push me away?"
" I'm a young unmarried lady, if I'm seen kissing a man. Rumors about me could get worse." He smirked his flirtatious smile again. "Then lets get married." "Sorry What?" I asked a bit confused of what he asked. "If we're engaged we can kiss all we want right? Unless you don't like me." I laid my head against his chest. "Fine...I'll marry you. Jerk." He smiled and held me tightly. When suddenly a maid opened the door. Her face went red, she ran out and shut the door. "Sorry! I didn't mean to see anything!!" Rafael chuckled. After slipping my boots on. I noticed Rafael had been staring at me the whole time. "What?" I asked with an annoyed tone. "You really are interesting. You accepted my proposal. Yet you still act cold towards me."
"What, you want me to call you Sweetheart or something?"
He laughed. "No, that wouldn't match with you. Just be more dependent on me okay. And tell me everything that's on your mind."
"How about no." I teased as I placed my whip in its holster.
"Aish. Tomboy. Act more like a fiancée could you."
"Fine."
We left the inn and continued our way towards my hometown.
