Chapter 10: Trip To Pharen Magick High

Arriving at the airport, i went through the routine security checks and baggage checks. I reached my gate and looked at the timetable of departures and arrivals nearby. I ran my finger down the list of names before arriving at my flight name. 

"Hm, it's.... 4:30am.... I have half an hour..." I walked to my gate area and waited.

After around a half hour, the PA system went off; "Flight 493 you may board the plane, Flight 493 you may board the plane; we will be taking off in twenty minutes." I stood up and walked to the entrance, handing the flight worker my ticket before they nodded. I got on my flight and headed towards the first class seating. 'My flight is four hours long, so I might as well make myself comfortable...' I thought as I placed my bags at my feet.

Katrinna's POV

Waking up from my sleep, I tossed and turned in bed as my mind kept returning to what the Dean's letter meant. What did he want? What is he gonna tell us? I showed Kristen, Brendan and Nathan the white envelop I got yesterday. I was surprised that they all also received one, all from the Dean. My mind was turning, racing through different reasons and questions. We all opened them the same time and had the exact same words. Apparently it was something that concerned only the top students in Pharen Magick High... 'what would be so important that it only concerns the top students and that the Dean himself would contact us.' 

I became frustrated and groaned. Shifting to lay on my side, I sighed. Blinking a couple times, I muttered, 

"No sense in losing sleep over this.... I'll deal with this when we have to report.."

I glanced at the clock to see that it read, "6:00am" I yawned once before closing my eyes. I had another four hours to sleep before I had to get ready, meeting time was 10:30. 

'I'll grab breakfast before I head to the Dean's office...'

Katherine's POV

I headed towards the baggage section to claim my bag before heading out to meet the person who was supposed to pick me up. Walking through sliding doors, I scanned the crowd before I saw a man holding up a sign with my name in big bold letters. I smiled as I made my way towards the man, smiling at him as he saw me approach him, nodding with a smile.

"Ah, Miss Katherine are you all ready?" he asked me.

"Yes, ready to go!" I grinned.

He nodded as he took my baggage and guided me to a car. He placed my bags in the trunk and got in the passenger seat before we drove off. A little ways later, we entered a forest on a single road. I gazed out my window as I saw the familiar emerald green pine trees, at that moment I heard the man tell me to hold on. We drove into a warped portal and disappeared from the single forested road. A few minutes later we stopped, we had arrived at the gates of Pharen Magick High. I grinned as got out of the car and hurriedly walked through the gates. The man gathered my bags before following. I looked at my watch and saw that it was almost 10am. I arrived at the Dean's office, opening the door slowly.

"Hello?" I called out.

"Ah, Katherine, you made it. Your trip was well I presume?" the Dean asked.

I smiled and nodded. He chuckled a bit. 

"Well then, since you'll be here for a bit, you can have your old room. We haven't had any newer students so your room was never assigned to anyone... So you can have your old room." 

My eyes widened before I grinned. 

"Thank you Dean! I will be back then. If you'd excuse me..." 

I left the office and decided to head to my room to drop my things off before returning. Reaching my room, I noticed the man was already here since my bags were already in my room. I placed my bag on the bed and walked to my window. Looking out onto the East wing of the campus, I smiled.

"I'm back!" I squealed.

I turned on my heel as I left the room and headed back towards the Dean's office. ' I was going to challenge and test a top student from here, and I know just who to pick...' I thought as I smirked a bit. Arriving back at his office, I opened the door. I was aware that I was supposed to hide and come out when called for the introduction. The Dean welcomed me and gestured to a space behind a curtain beside his desk. I walked to the space and waited a couple minutes before the door began to open periodically. It was almost time for my grand entrance.
