Why can’t I speak up? Why can’t I tell them that I am really sorry for what I just did? Walking out of them was so preposterous; I should not have than that. I am turning seventeen, I should act like one. I have to start growing up; to stop thinking of the past as my reason not to go on, and to face my mistakes. Yes, I should apologize later this afternoon most likely during lunch time.

“Hi guys, I’m sorry about earlier” that is a bit gauchely, so no. Probably, a cheery attack on the situation would do, “Hey, I’m just so hungry, what’s for lunch? I’m thinking about it blah blah blah. . .” that’s not just it, it’s so unlike me.

Thinking for the correct way made my head too preoccupied that I almost leaped when Anj asks me; “Hey, aren’t you going out to buy lunch?”

“Oh, sorry, I didn’t hear that the bell already rang.” I explain.

“Too much figure skating fantasies, right?” Rie asks smiling.

“ Well, sort of. But it’s more of how am I going to. . .” but before I could finish my sentence Anj says, “Apologize. Well, we’re also thinking about that.” Anj faces Rei and they both wear a huge smile on their faces.

“Yeah, you guys were right. I should probably start. . .” but then again, Anj interrupts.

“Okay, enough of this drama. Let us just get out of here, and our schoolmates might have emptied the variety of meals in the cafeteria by the time we get there. So let’s go, I’m starving.”

Right after that conversation, we conquered silence. Our echoing laughter and giggles could be heard by the walls of our classroom after we left. The phantom of the wicked silence left us; too terrified to be defeated by our cheerfulness. Friendship broke the erupting bulwark of solitude and uneasiness. We swiftly blend with the merry tone of the world on the other side of our classroom door. We chuckle in every story that we share as we make our way towards the packed cafeteria of our university. The aroma of the scrumptious meals soars its way to our empty stomachs which make us more restless to start eating.

“Hey, do you have any ideas where Louise came from?” Rei asks as soon as we found a place to settle in the crowded area.

“What do you mean by “came from”?” I reply in confusion.

“The school I mean.” Rei answers.  “Why, do you have other things in mind huh Perry?” Rei continues jokingly.

“Well, I just thought you were asking like where he lives.” I say innocently.

“But do you know where he lives?” Rei asks again.

“No.” I answer.

“Okay. So, how about you Anj do you know where?” Rei turns to Anj who is taking her lunch seriously and eating her roasted chicken leg and cheesy mashed potatoes.

“ I heard that he came from the school where Angeline came from.” Anj mutters, her mouth is full of mashed potatoes while she replies.

“So that’s why they know each other.” I say a-matter-of-factly, while holding my spoon up against the air.

Anj clears her throat and says, “Don't be too assuming Perry. They don’t know each other. They just have a common topic to talk about. Hey, are you watching him?”

Both of them look at me questioningly with their lips forming a grin.

“No.” I say abruptly. “I just had a glimpse of them before recess.” I explain.

“So, is that it?” Rei inquires.

“Yes, is there anything bad with just a glimpse?” I question.
