Genji x Reader

Promise

You and your mother accompanied your father to work today since there wasn't much to do at home. When you three arrived you separated your ways; your father going to Sojiro and your mother going in to see if any of the servants needed help before she went to go see Sojiros wife. (Sorry I haven't gave her name but you can think of a random name yourselves.) You on the other hand were curious about the boys whereabouts but mostly Genjis, wondering what his father told him last night. 

"(Y/n would you like to accompany me inside?" You mother said before she was to walk away.

"Yeah maybe I'll find the boys in there." You quickly walked to your mothers side holding her hand but a loud crash was heard from afar that made you both jump in fear. Being the curious girls you both were you decided to follow where the noise came from and so you did. Once at the spot you noticed tons of weaponry scattered on the floor and heard some grunts coming behind the shed. You smiled and knew it had to be the boys sparring with their master shin. Both you and your mother walked towards them and giggled. Genji heard your chuckles and turn to see your glowing face, admiring every feature. Without being aware of his surroundings Hanzo smacked the wooden sword on the side of his head causing all three of us to go into a laughing fit, the only party pooper was Shin. He glared at both of the boys and then faced you. It felt like he was sending small messages into your head and with the death glare it made it even worse. You decided to walk away and join the women instead, even if they were to annoy you on how to become a great wife one day and rather then causing more distraction towards the boys.

[Time skipsy]

"And don't forget to always air dry-"

"I get it already mama are you done?" You sighed in annoyance.

"You'll be a great wife to Hanzo one day." Mrs.Shimada took a sip of her tea as your mother giggled; Hanzo and Genji walked in. You turned to look at them, Genjis facial expression looked annoyed, tired and angry but that might have been from training, Hanzo on the other hand was red. You smiled at the boys and got up to give them a hug; quickly taking them away from the women and back into the garden.

"[Y/n] we can't play with you anymore." Hanzo played with his raven hair while Genji looked away.

"What do you mean, did I do something wrong? Please forgive me I won't do it again!" Droplets formed on the side of your eyes as you got on your knees begging for forgiveness. The boys went to your side hugging you to calm you. Once you did they explained that Master Shin was getting mad that you were a distraction to the boys.

"He also found out that I kept leaving the castle to play with you instead of training, Hanzo was helping me make excuses but he soon found out what our plan was. He's telling my father tonight.." Genji and Hanzo got up both giving you a hand to lift you up. You wiped the tears away and sighed.

"I'm sorry.. I knew I should have never been attached to you both." Before walking away you pecked each boy and made your way towards the gate leaving them speechless and caressing their own cheeks with a pink tinge on their faces. From behind Genji was running after you; he caught on to you and grabbed your wrist. You turned around to see the young boy breathing heavily from trying to chase after you. You latched your other hand onto him and lead him to the nearest stone to rest.

"Genji what are you doing, Master Shin will see you with me.."

"[Y/n] I promise to play with you everyday even if master Shin gets mad, just please- don't be mad at us- don't leave us." You fanned the boy with your small hands trying to give him some air it did something but not much to remove the sweat; you thought about his request and you knew Genji was your best-friend so he would keep him promise. You smiled down at the boy and hugged him.

"Okay, just try not to get caught from anyone not even my papa." You both shared a embrace and giggled

"I'll try not to- my cherry blossom." Your eye widened as those words came out of his mouth. Genji would never call you pet names, yeah he would kiss your cheek but that would have been as friends only.

"Uh [Y/n] are you okay, are you hot we could go find your mom if you want."

You didn't notice it but you were blushing; flattered by the words coming out of the young shimadas mouth.

"I'm going to go call your mom [Y/n] I'll be back." And with that, Genji left your side to leave you thinking about him. The huge smile that formed on your face had never left and was still there plastered on your face.

(Sorry if this chapter was pretty lame, the thing is I know what I want to type about but I don't know how to type it out which bothers me a lot but next chapter you will probably be a teenager since I think I'm done with the young era. I feel excited to type about the teenage era so much is going to happen and I hope you enjoy it.-Zen)
