Who is Lance McClain to me? A dumbass. A guy who thinks he knows everything when he's wrong. He wouldn't know the first thing about some shit. And yet, he acts like he does. A tough attractive football player. One of the best on the team. Great with sportsmanship and sucks up to all the teachers. A good kid or 'golden boy'. He's got the grades and the girls. A player. And yet again, he refuses to go out with the most popular girl in the school. Instead he sits back and rejects her over and over and over again. He's got a lot. Then there's his secret side. The side he doesn't show anyone. The side I saw today. The side that breaks down and reveals how much he's been hurt before. How much he's even still hurting. The schools amazing golden boy has a cover. One he uses to hide his insecurities. He has panic attacks. He had a sister that overdosed when she was 15. If he's 18 then it couldn't have happened that long ago. He keeps what hurts him hidden. Nobody knows about his sister. Everyone thinks they're happy. I know what it feels like to hide. It hurts. So maybe, just maybe, he is someone I can open up to.
