So this will be about the kids of Skyrim. Such cute little loud mouthed stuck up brats. Okay okay, not all are bad. Seriously there are some I really like. Mainly the ones you can adopt. This particular chapter is about the kids I have adopted, Blaise Sophie and Lucia.
The misadventures of adopting part one. So when I went to Windhelm there was this flower selling girl Sophie. Such a sweet cute innocent little thing who really needs a home. At the time I didn't have room for her so I would buy her flowers, resell them back then buy again increasing her gold value for now since my speechcraft was not high. While there I also heard of the butcher a serial killer targeting females. After finishing the blood on ice quest or so I thought I was able to afford space for Sophie. I went back to Windhelm to adopt her and learned the killer was still on the loose so I had him to deal with as well. I adopted Sophie and then stayed to finish the quest. She went off to say goodbye to her friends and gather what little belongings she had when a man grabbed her from behind infront of my very eyes and started stabbing her in the chest and neck. This was my first ever playthrough and I did not know about the children cannot die without mods part so I was horrified and heartbroken. I immediately went into mother bear mode and took the jerks head clean off. I was then relieved to see my new daughter was still alive. After that I ended up buying her a doll several dresses and a dagger as protection.
Gifts for your kids. So I have been known to buy gifts for my kids and give them a nice allowance since I am not around as much as I should be. I do make Lydia or at least one of my housecarls stay behind and watch my kids. My favorite gifts to give is usually a new outfit doll or toy sword if a son. so the first time I gave my daughter Sophie a doll I was busy cooking supper and I saw her in the corner doing something. I was taken by surprise and found it so cute that she was playing with her new doll with a big smile and I think she was also humming to it. I mean OMG how cute! So often as a thank you for being their mom or dad and giving them a home they will give you gifts in return. Typically plants and such little things though on occasion you might get some clothing item or jewelry. I sometimes wonder if that is what Sophie does with the allowance I give her, save some to buy me a necklace... Another gift I give my children either boy or girl is a dagger as a form of defense and practice. We do live in a dangerous country after all they need something to keep themselves safe. It is cute to see them practicing in the basement on the practice dummies at times. Especially if it is a son who said he wants to be an adventurer like you when he grows up because it looks like he really is trying to be like you.
Misadventures of adoption part two. Another girl I often have adopted is Lucia. So when I got her I lived in Whiterun which is the city you find her in. I did not know that the war would cause Whiterun to be targeted eventually. When it happened and I was getting ready she was running home from I guess playing with other kids. After the war my daughter was broken. What I mean is she would not move from the corner of the house crying and begging me to make it stop because she was so scared from all the noise the attacking had caused. She was like that for almost the rest of the day which was kind of sad. Poor girl got PTSD. Luckily she eventually calmed down and was back to her happy self complaining about Braith being a big meanie. But to come home and see her cowering like that was not something I really wanted to see after dealing with a bunch of Stormcloaks and watching my friends getting killed.
Pets and followers. So sooner or later you will come home to a fox rabbit mudcrab or skeever in your house with your daughter or son begging you to let them keep it as a pet. Their excuse will typically be look what followed me home. I will beleive a fox followed you home if you had some food it liked even a skeever. A rabbit seems a little far fetched, I mean they are very timid and the kid either carried it home or somehow lured it home. Now a mudcrab? I call bull crap on it followed you home Blaise! No way in hell did one of the slowest moving creatures follow you home not to mention you see one you either kill it or run not let it come home with you. So obviously this one being smaller than most but not all mudcrabs was a baby or runt and Blaise picked it up and carried it home with him! Now despite my little rant I do allow any and all pets because it is cute to see them laying by the beds watching over my kids as if trying to guard them to keep them safe. Rieklings are interesting to bring home to your kids when coming back from Solsthiem. I had a riekling follower and brought him to Lakeview manor once. When Lucia saw him she asked if he was a friend and commented he looked mean. Another time I brought a deathhound home and Blaise asked if it was my dog and it was scary!
Misadventures of adoption part three. Help I came home to find my husband was kidnapped for ransom Lydia is as clueless and useless as ever and my son is missing!!! Please if anyone can help me find him I will reward you. He is about ten I think, brown hair brown eyes imperial answers to the name Blaise. Wants to be an adventurer carries a ebony dagger was last seen wearing a green tunic, and loves his pet mudcrab. Please I want my baby back!
An important update on the missing imperial boy.
Blaise was found not too far from his house near Falkreath alive and unharmed being watched over by the local friendly necromancer. Wait what...this sounds wrong. WTF was he doing with the necromancer?!!! I am so killing that dark mage looting his corpse leaving it for the wolves and grounding Blaise for scaring me like that!
