This time, Claire was the first one to wake up. Getting Maisie and Owen up as well to go eat breakfast with time to pack. Having done all that, they went to the car and said goodbye to the boys since Karen was driving them the small distance to the airport. The ride was quiet, not much was said until they arrived and said their goodbyes.
The small family made its way into the airport and through check-in. When they got through security, Claire begged Owen to go find her some chocolate, didn't matter what. He came back quickly with a couple chocolate bars filled with many different things, that wasn't chocolate. "Owen" Claire said as she looked up at him. He knew that something was wrong instantly. "Does this look like chocolate?" She asked. Others might have thought it sounded harsh or asked, why don't she just go get it herself? Owen just sighed. "There's chocolate in it" He said and pointed at the bag. "Yea a bit. Please Owen go find me anything made out of chocolate and only chocolate" He sighed and agreed instantly, knowing not to start arguing. Claire never had the biggest appetite and he started to wonder why she was insisting on chocolate so much. Maybe it was that time of the month again. He had lost track of when her time was.
He came back with a bag filled with all sorts of chocolate candies. Handing Claire, the bag, noticing that she had given the bars to Maisie. He chuckled to himself and decided not to start questioning Claire about her craving. Maybe it was an after-sickness sort of thing.
This time Maisie didn't fall asleep, since she got an undisturbed night of sleep before the flight. Insisting to sit at the window, Claire and Owen got to sit together and Maisie wanted Claire next to her, in the middle of them. Claire didn't mind seeing as how the trip over there was less than comfortable with the aisle seat. She eventually fell asleep against Owen's shoulder though. Maisie was too obsessed with the view from above the clouds that she didn't notice.
When they landed, Claire slowly rose from Owen's shoulder. Looking around, she took a deep breath, the feeling of sickness quickly appearing. Motion sickness was what she came up with as the reason. Owen noticed that she looked off again and she told him that she probably just needed some water when they got off.
She got her water as they waited for their baggage. Only missing Maisie's, Claire suddenly felt worse again and told Owen she had to find a bathroom. He nodded and told her they'd wait right here. Claire ran off and came back 10 minutes later, looking much better. "Did you?" Owen asked, stopping himself from using the specific words, not really seeing any reason for bringing those up. She nodded and went over to take grab the bottle of water out of Owen's hand.
They walked outside to the parking garage where they left the car. They had gotten out of the city when Claire spotted a gas station and asked Owen to pull in. "Why, what do you need? He asked. "Oh, just some lady stuff. They didn't have my brand at the airport" She said and made her way inside. Coming out a few minutes later with a little plastic bag, looking satisfied. They drove off and made their way home to find the house much closer to being done than when they had left it a couple of days ago. All walls were done, roof was done. Door was placed as was the windows and Owen could only assume that the plumbing was done. He had told the workers not to continue if the plumbing wasn't done, seeing as it would get complicated if they did.
He told the girls to take the stuff inside while he went to have a look. Wanting to make sure they did it right. The girls made their way inside and Claire started unpacking their suitcases, like the mom she now is. Maisie ran out to Owen and found him inspecting the build. "Can I come in?" She asked him, unsure if it was safe to step through the door. "Yes, come here" He laughed and out an arm around her shoulder. "What do you think?" He asked her and they both looked up and around the half-done walls inside. "Looks good. Will I get a room?" Maisie asked, seeing as he started on the build before they met her. Owen looked down at the girl and smiled. "Of course, sweetie. There's plenty of room for you and me and Claire and others" He said, rubbing her shoulders. Maisie put her mouth askew and looked around a little more. "Others?" She asked curiously. Owen smiled to himself, knowing exactly what he meant by that part. "Yes, who knows, maybe there will eventually be others living with us" He said, very unsure of how he should phrase it. Having the kid/sibling talk with Maisie before he had even had it with Claire, seemed weird. But he had dug himself a deep hole here and Maisie still looked at him curiously.
"Do you mean babies?" Maisie asked. Of course, the girl would just come right out and say it. Owen couldn't help but chuckle. He really kept underestimating the girl's intelligence. "Maybe, but don't tell mom I said anything about that. Okay?" He whispered to Maisie, making her giggle. "Okay, but why?" She asked tilting her head. Owen took a moment to think about his answer. "Because I'm not sure how mom feels about that subject, so let's keep it at bay for now" He told the girl who nodded and started walking around the house. Inspecting their soon to be, new home.
While those two were having a father daughter moment, Claire was unpacking and putting everything away. Grabbing the plastic bag when she finished and unpacked the few items. She went to pee and eventually joined the others outside.
Owen walked around, showing his girls where everything was going to be. Where the entrance would lead into the open kitchen and further on into the living room. Showing with his hands where the stairs were going to be placed and how many rooms he had planned for upstairs. Five in total, counting the one he had thought of as an office, downstairs. Both girls seemed satisfied, but Owen was really nervous about what Claire would think. After all, he had started building the house for her. She seemed content with it. Her smile growing when he mentioned the amount of rooms there was going to be. Maisie was very excited to tell Claire, that she was getting her own room. Claire had smiled and laughed and told Maisie how lucky she was. The girl started going on and on about how she wanted to decorate it. Asking before hand how much she could decide for herself.
They made dinner out of the poor selection of ingredients in the van and sat down to eat. They discussed the house and a few times; the subject of the rooms had popped up and Maisie had send Owen a smirk across the table. Trying really badly to hide a smile which Claire noticed. "What's going on?" She asked with a laugh. "Nothing, me and Maisie just had a little...father daughter talk" He told Claire. She hummed, deciding not to ask more even though she believed there was much more to it than what they were letting on.
YES, I am the BEST
Okay that's a lie lol! I'm quite literally the worst :D Happy smiles.
I don't really know what to think about this chapter. Not my best, that's for sure.
Oh well I hope it wasn't so bad, that I just lost half my readers.
Also, I bet most of you have figured out what's going on at this point, if not then well you might be a little daft.
Here's a question though – I play sims, more like build in the sims and I'm not going to brag but I'm not half bad. I was thinking that maybe I should try and build the house that Owen is building so there's no confusion and then upload it on a chapter later? I don't know, it was just an idea so everyone knows what it looks like in my head (And by this I mean that I already build it lol)
