"Weasley! Pay attention!" Carrow barked. Another awful Dark Arts class. I was so tired of being targeted in front of my friends and blamed for the entire world. So my family and I had different views on a couple people in the world than the Carrows. So what? "You see, children? This is what happens when you're a blood traitor. You turn into a Mudblood!"

"That's not true!" Colin cried. He was Muggle-Born, so I could only imagine how offensive these lessons were to him.

"200 points from Gryffindor! Creevey, would we like a detention? I think not," Carrow spat. "I'm not done with you yet, Weasley! This is what happens when you associate with Mudbloods. Your blood becomes as filthy as theirs! Let me show you! Creevey! Weasley! Come here!"

"Actually, everyone's blood looks the same," Luna corrected.

"Oh, would you like to stand by that theory, Lovegood?"

"Yes, actually, I would."

"Fine. Would a pure blood that looks at Muggles as they really are, FILTH, please volunteer? It will not involve as much pain as these two will have, I promise," Carrow said, his voice dripping in a thick false sweetness. I once again thought of old Toad Face.

Naturally, most of the Slytherins volunteered. A girl named Elizabeth got selected, a wicked grin plastered on her pointed face. "Hope you suffer, Mudblood," she said to Collin.

"Now, class, this is what clean blood looks like," Carrow said while cutting a thin slit in Elizabeth's arm. Blood slowly trickled out of the tiny cut, but Elizabeth acted as if she had been stabbed like I had just two weeks before. "Yes, yes Miss Davies, you may go to the hospital wing in a moment." Carrow proceeded to collect the tiny amount of blood from Elizabeth's cut on a piece of parchment. "Miss Davies, to the hospital wing with you. Now, Miss Lovegood, if Creevey and Weasley's blood does look different, then you will have  one month of detentions, starting tomorrow. If the blood is the same, I will convince my sister to let Weasley out of her detentions for the rest of the time she currently has detentions. Fair?"

"Yes," Luna replied assertively.

"Right then. The blood of a Mudblood." Carrow cut a small slit in Colin's arm. Colin flinched, but did not show very much pain. Carrow collected the blood. "I don't think we quite have enough to tell, do we, Weasley?" Carrow said, noting my relieved expression. "I guess we'll have to collect more."

"No!" I cried.

"No? You think we can tell from this? Really? Or did you not want me to harm him? Why don't you do it? Imperio!"

The floating sensation returned once again. Carrow handed me the dagger, and I walked over to Colin. I cut a deep gash in his arm, and another one on his leg. Carrow released me from the curse.

"There. Now we won't make that mistake again, will we, Weasley. See, Lovegood? The blood does look different! Now, for the blood of a blood traitor!"

Carrow cut a small slit in my arm, just as he had to Collin and Elizabeth. I was so used to pain that I barely felt the knife. "Oh, I can't really see very much of a difference between Weasley's and Creevey's, can you, Lovegood?"

"Thy all look the same," Luna responded boldly.

"No? Well, I guess we'll have to take more!" I felt the knife glide down my face and watched in horror as a layer of skin from my cheek fell to the ground. Blood poured out of my wound, and Carrow kept talking. "Miss Lovegood, you can see that you went wrong! A month of detention! As for you, Weasley, I'm in charge of your detention tonight. I'll show some mercy and let you go, but don't expect it to happen again."

"Thank you, sir," I said, barely able to move my mouth.

I gathered my things and left. I needed to eat an early supper. We had a D.A. meeting.
