I rushed to the Room of Requirement. I was late for Neville and Luna; tonight had been a painful detention. I pushed open the door and was disappointed to see that I was, indeed, the last one there.
"Okay, so, what's the plan?" Luna asked.
"Snape has the Sword of Gryffindor. I just know that Harry needs it. We have to get it from him," I told them.
"Well, let's steal it," Neville suggested.
"Right, well, it's not that simple. The office is probably loaded with security measures, and there's a password. It'll be really hard, practically impossible, even, to get in," I said.
"Did you happen to catch that password last night?" Neville pressed, clearly very annoyed with me.
"No. Like I said, I was unconscious. Besides, he probably changes it loads."
Neville sighed. "Fine, then. What do we do?"
"Well, I know I, for one, am exhausted and have loads of homework, so maybe we could come back some other time when we have enough energy to think," Luna chimed in.
"Yeah, that sounds great," Neville and I replied in unison.
"How was the hospital wing, Ginny?" Luna asked.
I could feel tears coming, though I knew I had to stop them. "Worse than detention."
"How so?" Neville asked, suddenly very intrigued.
"Carrow, when he tortured you, it was a distraction for Madame Pomfrey. He- he came to the hospital wing and tortured me but that wasn't- wasn't the worst part. He- he t-t-tortured Fred. F-for no reason. He just did it."
"It's okay, Ginny," Luna said soothingly. "Is Fred alright?"
"H-he'll be fine. He was really upset, though."
You should get to bed. We all should. It's been a long day," Neville interjected.
Neville and I wandered to our common room, being careful not to be seen. We both did a little bit of homework and then said goodnight. I immediately wrote Fred, and then wrote George afterword.
Dear Fred,
I hope you're feeling alright. I feel terrible about that. You did nothing. Please don't blame yourself for what happened to me. It's not your fault, I shouldn't have gone to the hospital wing. Give my best to the family!
Love you lots.
Ginny
Dear George,
How are you? It must have been terrible to watch your twin like that. It was crushing for me, so I can't imagine...
How's Fred? Is he okay? He'll never tell me if he's not okay, which is why I'm asking you.
I'm alright. Don't worry about me. I miss you so much already.
All my love,
Ginny
