The only question was who to write to. Mum would throw a fit if she knew what happened, Dad would show the letter to Mum, Bill and Charlie couldn't be bothered with my problems, Percy couldn't care less, and Ron, Harry, and Hermione were off who knows where doing who knows what. That left Fred and George. Sure, they were jokesters, but they had always been the brothers I could confide in, and they would help me through anything. I unpacked my stationery and began to write.
Dear Fred and George,
This is Ginerva Weasley. You can know it's me because I was standing on the left side of the hall when we used the extendable ears, and Crookshanks stole the ear.
I miss you so much. The Carrows are now in charge of all detentions, and they don't seem like the friendly type. I also have detention for two weeks. Professor Carrow #1 caught me in the halls after curfew and called me a blood traitor. I didn't even respond with that snappy of a response. Please write back.
I miss you so much already,
Ginny Weasley
There. I went down to the common room and asked to borrow Neville's owl. Of course his response was yes. I sent the letter, hoping Fred and George would be awake to receive it.
"Oi! Ginny! Where have you been hibernating?" Dean called.
I whirled around. "In my dormitory. You?" I responded cooly.
"Nowhere, really," Dean said, a little startled. "Why don't you stay down here?"
"Oh, alright."
We spent much of the night talking. The common room was bustling, and we were all nervous for the coming year. Finally, however, we all trecked upstairs to bed.
