"Keith, it's obvious that you're drunk."
Keith ignored Pete's untruthful judgement, and went on.
"You mean everything to me. You tease and sway with my senses and emotions to high heaven, you help me with my own issues, you rock my world, and you are willing to do anything to help me.
"I owe you so much for all the great things you've done to help me, and I just want you to know that you matter so much to me, Roger, John, and any of your loved ones.
"You're a good person with a kind heart, and I want you to be like that, even when I'm not with you anymore. I just want you to know that I love you. I really, really love you."
Pete felt his eyes water and his vision cloud up.
"Keith, you didn't need to call me just to say that."
"Yes, I did. You looked miserable today, and I was busy with other things after we went shopping. I wanted to make you happy when I had the free time, and the free time I have is now." Keith's voice rasped.
"Keith, don't get hung up on things like that. I'm none of your concern."
