"Jenny? Are you alright, my love?" Madame Vastra asks, taking a questioning step toward her.

"Yeah, Madame. I...just..." Jenny stutters nervously, fingering a scanner pointlessly.

"What, my dear?" Madame Vastra inquires.

"I...miss ya, that's all..." Jenny mumbles, avoiding Madame Vastra's strong gaze.

"Miss me? But I'm right here." Madame Vastra says, absentmindedly stroking Jenny's hand with a

gloved finger.

"I haven't seen ya, lately. Ya've always been busy with other people. First the Doctor needed to be looked after, and now that that's over River needs care. The-the way ya look at River, it just...It's the way ya used to look at me. I thought ya saved 'em for me, ya know? Those looks... I just feel like we've lost our connection, like its brok'n." Jenny spills, her heart beating rapidly as she lets it speak.

"Jenny...Do you really believe that, my lo...." Madame Vastra chokes out, breaking off in her sentence "...Jenny?"

"Yeah...this is silly. The Doctor and River need 'elp and all I can do is ramble on about my stupid life."

"But Jenny, you are an amazing human." Madame Vastra soothes, reaching out to pull her into a warming hug. Jenny roughly smacks her hand away.

"Is that all I am to ya? A 'uman?!" Jenny yells before storming out of the room, flinging the communicator as she left.

Madame Vastra stood, stunned and confused. Jenny had never reacted to her calling her human before, Madame Vastra thought. They had never fought like that before either, yes of course once in a while they had little arguments, but those were usual in marriage. Both of them preferred to discuss things that were bothering them rather than arguing and getting angry at each other. Madame Vastra stood in silence for what seemed like no time at all, though it was really a long time.

There was a sharp knock at the door. Madame Vastra smoothed her dress down, and spread a smile onto her scaled face.

"Do come in." Madame Vastra welcomed.

The door wailed as it gently swung on its hinges. Nurse Hame stepped in, toying her fingers nervously.

"Yes?" Madame Vastra asks irritation etching her voice.

"I...I-I...uh. Jenny. She, uh...She's crying and uh..." Nurse Hame stammered, glancing back toward the now open door.

"I know! I should've known better! Why?!" Madame Vastra barked, blaming herself. This was a side of her not many got to see.

"I'll take care of River, you go and see Jenny." Nurse Hame said tugging the communicator from Madame Vastra's scaly grasp.

"Thank you." Madame Vastra whispered, barely audibly.

"You must go." Nurse Hame instructed. The two women of different species gave each other a knowing glance, before Madame Vastra rushed out of the room.

She hurried down the hall way in search of Jenny.

There was a loud crash, coming from the kitchen. Madame Vastra hasted down the corridor to the kitchen. She felt a large finger jab her in the back. Madame Vastra spun around immediately, to see a Sontaran. She reached into her hoister for her katana, before swiftly realising that it was only their henchman Strax.

"Strax?!" Madame called shoving the sword back into the hoister.

"Madame, the boy has disturbing liquid coming from his eyes. He keeps wailing at me! Shall I get my grenades out?" Strax asked excitedly, referring to Jenny. Sontarans, have trouble telling the differences between gender.
