So far the day has been more hectic than usual. I could hardly pay attention to work because of what happened last night and so the head of the floor I work on asked me to go help the doctors upstairs with the other kids, who were slightly better than the ones I work with.

"Hey, Y/n, what are you doing up here? I thought you were a trauma doc," Masaomi smiled at me before his face dropped. "Whats wrong? You look upset."

"Its nothing. I'm fine."

"Oh come on, dont give me that. I have thirteen younger siblings. I can tell when there is something wrong and when someone is lying. So what is it?"

"Three of the boys were contacted by their birth parents."

His eyes went wide and he quickly pulled me to a less crowded space where we could talk.

"Which three of the boys?"

"Shin, Daiki, and Tetsu."

"They havent met then face to face yet have they?"

"From what I can tell from our conversation, I think they just contacted the boys on the phone. I don't think they have met them in person yet."

"Oh my god... I cant imagine what would happen if that happened to Louis."

"What do you mean?"

"Oh thats roght, you dont know. Louis was adopted into our family too."

"Youre kidding."

"Nope. And we just found out recently that Ema was adopted by her father."

"In that case, do you think Louis would mind coming to talk to the boys later tonight or tomorrow evening?"

"I dont think it would be a problem for us to come ovee tonight. Besides, you said the other day how much the boys missed theur favorite Asahina."

I smirked without him noticing before I looked at him confused.

"So you're bringing Subaru too?"

He laughed before we both went back to working and sure enough, after texting Louis, Masomi said everything was set for them to come over at six.

TIME SKIP

Kyo and I were setting the table when the boys walked into the room, as well as Satsuki, Taiga, and Kazunari.

"Hey kids, we werent expecting the three of you tonight," Kyo smiled at them as the teenagers nodded and Taiga spoke up.

"These three invited us because they thought you were gonna talk to them about something and wanted us here for it."

"Something? What something?" Ryouta asked.

"Nothing sweetie. Dont worry about it." I said before turning to Kyo. "Looks like we need to add three more spots."

"Dont you mean one? You already added two spots," Daiki asked.

"Well thats because-" the doorbell cut me off and I quickly ran to the door and opened it to see Masaomi and Louis standing there. "Hey you two, glad you could make it."

Louis hugged me and gave me a small bag which had some hair care products in it.

"Its some of the latest stuff we're selling at the shop. I thought youd like some before it gets popular and the price goes up."

"Thanks Louis. Thats really sweet of you."

I lead them into the dining room and introductions were made and the boys caught up with the two. We all day down for dinner and as we neared the end Kyo and I asked for Sei, Ryouta, and Atsushi to go back to their rooms.

"But what about dessert?" Atsushi asked.

"We will eat something later, sweetie. For now, go upstairs and we will call you down soon."

The three nodded begore standing up and leaving the room. I gave it a few seconds before turning to Louis and Masaomi. I nodded at them as Kyo and I picked up some dishes and went to the kitchen, still listening to the conversation.

TETSUYA POV

"So boys, your mom told us about what happened," Louis said as he played with a loose bang that was hanging in his face.

"And that has something to do with you because?" Aomine asked.

"Because I'm adopted too. And I wanted to talk with you guys and see what you thought about it all."

"You're adopted, nanodayo? But... Your family doesnt seem to act like you are or make it obvious."

"Well, your mom and Kyo dont make it obvious or act like it, do they?" We all shared a look and shook our heads no.

"So have any of you met them face to face?"

"No. They only text us," I said, my face almost falling to a frown but I caught myself just in time. I felt Taiga's grip on my hand slightly tighten and I used my thumb to run across the back of his hand to let him know I'm okay.

"Well let me tell you guys this, I dont know what the circumstances were for your parents but mine werent that great. That was before I met my mom and she let me join her family where I gained all of my brothers and the life I live now. While I do think it is good for a person to meet their birth larents at least once, I also think you shouldnt do so without your mom or Kyo or until youre older. Because right now, things probably seem stressful enough without this added to your plates."

"Yeah but... Shouldn't that give us a reason to meet them even sooner and get everything cleared away so it isnt as stressful?" Midorima asked.

"Actually, meeting your birth parents can be even more stressful. Because then they might say something that makes you feel unwanted or do something to try to take advantage of you in some way. When I met my birth father, he tried to get me to give him money for God knows what."

We all sat in silence for a little bit before looking at each other. Shintaro and I nodded and Daiki, after much hesitation, nodded as well.

"Good. Now then, why dont we get everyone back in here and we can all have some of your mom's famous cake?"

"It isnt that famous," mom said while carrying in the white cake with her homemade vanilla whip frosting. "Ill go call the other boys."

"Way ahead of you," Kyo smiled as he walked into the room followed by the other three. So we all got a slice of cake and began talking like nothing had happened.
