Mike's Point of View;

"So.." Billie started, looking up from his menu "..What are you guys thinking of ordering?"

I stared at the menu. I was unsure of what I wanted at the moment. Spaghetti? Steak? Just a salad? I couldn't decide.

"I'll have a Coke please."

"Yeah, same with me please."

"Huh?" I looked up from the menu and the waiter was already was asking for what drinks we wanted "Um, I'll have what they're having, thank you."

"three Cokes okay." he wrote down, walking away

Okay, Coke is fine. Just means no alcohol so no one will get drunk.

The waiter finally came back with our drinks and took our orders. Tre got a steak and Billie got just a salad, so I settled on spaghetti. I was stirring my drink with my straw, while Billie and Tre were just playing on their phones. I finally spoke up.

"Guys, this is supposed to be our night off." I said firmly, but trying not to make a scene "How about we just catch up with each other? Since we never have time to talk."

Billie put his phone in his pocket, followed by Tre doing the same.

"Well I guess you're right Mike, Sorry. What's up?" Billie asked

"I'm..fine.." I started to wish I never said anything "Um, how's your wife, Billie?"

"She's fine." "She was actually nervous about me going out." He laughed

"Maybe she thought right." Tre joined in, also laughing

I grew regret over this thought, the thought of Adrienne worrying about Billie

The food finally came and it was delicious. I think it was just because I was starving.

"Wow that food was great." Billie said, satisfied "I'm going to pay the bill, so guys if you just want to use the bathroom or something, feel free."

With that, I got up and left, not to pee, but to simply clear my thoughts. With all this stress lately, it's been a little hard to think straight. I got up to leave and I don't think the others noticed, which relieved me.

When I got in the bathroom, I doused my face with cold water. Aw, so much better, my face was starting to feel sweaty. I thought about actually peeing, when someone walked in. It was Tre.

"Hey Mike, are you ok?" he asked

"Uh.. yeah, i'm fine." I gave a thumbs up, with a forced smile "Trust me." I don't know why I kept lying

Tre raised his eyebrows. He could see right though me.

"Mike, we both know your not okay."

I sighed in defeat.

"You're right, something is bothering me."

"Want to talk about it?" He extended his arms. Did he want to hug?

I only crossed my arms, hugging myself

"I'm just nervous about getting crazy, that's all." I started "I mean, what if one of us gets drunk and does something stupid?"

Tre looked up, eyes only, "Look, if you're that nervous, than maybe we should just call it a night."

If Billie was upset about me being late, imagine how hurt he'll be over me canceling our big night out. My eyes grew wide "No!" I almost shouted, "Please, let's not end the night." I begged

"Okay whatever you say..." His voiced trailed off

We left the restaurant. I tried to think of something to get Billie more excited and something to distract me from all this wight on my shoulders. I looked around to get any ideas, when finally I spotted something, like a light at the end of a tunnel

"So what do you guys want to do now?" Billie said, checking his watch "The night's still young."

"Let's all get drinks!" I blurted out, pointing at the bar, a few buildings away.

"Okay, let's go." Billie said, starting to walk over there

But, at the end of a tunnel, there's always darkness that follows.
