Chapter 15
I woke up in a cage, it looked like a giant bird cage, it was roughly fifteen feet tall, I was in a room with metal walls and dim lighting, there were two other cages which were empty. I rolled on my back, my head hurt, I reached up to feel dried blood covering my face, I had a gash on my forehead. I sat up and observed my surroundings, there was a bucket filled with water and soap at the other end of the cage. I walked over to it and scrubbed my face with a sponge, I got the blood off my face but it didn't help with the cut itself.
I sat in the cage for about three hours, a door opened at the other end of the room, a man in a black leather jacket, black jeans and dark sunglasses, with black hair and a strong build strutted into the room, he looked my way and clapped his hands unenthusiasticly, "I have to say," He said, "I didn't think you'd make it this far."
"Who are you?" I asked.
"Morcos," He said, "I thought you'd remember me."
"You look nothing like my best friends father," I said gritting my teeth.
"Hmm," Morcos said, he walked around my cage.
"Why did you take me?" I asked.
"Why else?" Morcos grined, "You bring our beasts out of Geron so we can build our army to take over the world," He said quickly, "Everything is falling in place," He smiled, "Oh where are my manners here's your dinner," He said throwing me a peice of moldy bread. He laughed and left.
I nibbled on the bread and stared at the bars of the cage i wonder if I could fit through them I thought. I tried to fit through but all I did was get stuck. I pulled myself back in the bars. There was a section of the bars that was a door but the lock required a key.
I saw the bars widened at the top, but I would have to climb fourteen feet up on straight bars. I grabbed one of the bars and started to pull myself up. I climbed up ten feet when my hand slipped and I clutched the bar with one hand, the fall would easily sprain my ankles. I tried to grab for the bar with my other hand but it did no good, I was relying on my left arm. I reached for the bar again and grasped it, I pulled myself higher until I reached a horizontal bar, I grabbed that and pulled myself up to it and sat on it, I sighed and squeezed my body through the bars then slid down. I was now outside of the cage. Yes. I went over to the door and slipped out. I was in a dark hallway, doors lined the walls. I found a door marked capture, I stepped inside and saw Jen tied down to a table, she was asleep but she looked unharmed. I woke her up and cut the ropes holding her down, she stood up and got her bearings.
"Ugh I feel sick," She said.
"Trust me I don't feel to good on my moldy bread either," I said.
We walked back into the hallway. At the end of the hall there was a sign marking main headquarters. We quietly entered and once we saw Kayan and Morcos we ducked behind a table.
"I have them secured," Morcos said.
"Hmm," Kayan said.
"What is it?" Morcos asked.
"Something doesn't feel right," Kayan said, she looked just the way I saw her in my dream.
"What could possibly be wrong?" Morcos exclaimed.
"I don't know Morcos," Kayan said.
"Let us not be held back," Morcos said, "We have a world waiting for us."
"Yes," Kayan said, "Maine!" she called.
"Yes mother," Maine said as she stood up from a chair in the corner, I hadn't seen her there.
"Go check the monitors to see how the prisoners are doing," Kayan demanded.
Maine walked over to the wall and pulled a joystick down, three screens came out of the wall, one showed the table Jen was tied to, the other showed my empty cage and the third showed a dark dungeon with Jake's hands in iron bands chained to diffrent corners of the dungeon which held him stretched across the wall.
I almost screamed, that was just cruel.
"Mother," Maine said, "Serena and Jen escaped." That was so strange she just busted us.
"What?" Kayan asked enraged.
Maine showed her the screen, "Impossible," Kayan seethed, "You!" She yelled at Morcos, "You said they were secure!"
"They were!" Morcos said.
"Then why are two of my prisoners missing?" Kayan looked like she was about to kill him on the spot.
"How was I supposed to know the length of their power?" Morcos defended himself.
Kayan calmed down, "Just search!"
Morcos left in a rage.
"Now you my darling child," Kayan turned to Maine, "Join your father in the search," She demanded harshly. I can't imagine growing up with that as a mom.
Maine obediently left, Kayan went out a door on the far side of the room.
"Jen we need to find Jake!" I said.
"I know," Jen said, "Lets go!"
We slipped back into the hall and looked around until I found a door marked prisoner #3, I opened it to find Maine standing in front of Jake staring at us.
"Maine thank goodness you're here," I said with a huge grin.
She didn't say a word she just raised a sword to my neck, and pointed at Jen ready to turn her to gold, "Walk."
