Chapter 7

You know when I imagined the safe place we were going I imagined a camp like in the book I'm reading.  Well, I was way off, it was a mansion and I don't mean like a pretty big house I mean a mansion, biggest house I ever saw.  And I don't mean like a not fancy wrecked up house, I mean billion dollar house. The weird thing was when we drove up it looked like just an empty lot in the middle of nowhere, well, I've seen weirder things in the past few days.

  "Whoa," Maine mumbled.

  "Yeah, really," Jen said.

I didn't say anything but my mouth hung open.

"Welcome to paradise," Uncle Roy said.

"House," I said, wow I said something.

"Well what are we waiting for let's go," Jen said climbing out of the car.

"I'm game," Maine said following Jen.

  "You ready," Uncle Roy said.

  "I guess," I replied.

"Ok let's go," he said getting out of the car.  I slowly followed him.

I was still moving slowly when Uncle Roy called "Hey you coming,"

"Yeah," I replied picking up the pace.

"This is so cool, we actually get to stay here!" Maine exclaimed.

When I got over to them they started throwing questions at me, questions like, isn't this awesome, and don't you love it, and other stuff like that.

"You girls wait on the lawn ok," Uncle Roy said as he walked over to the porch.  Ok I should describe the house a little more, it's painted white, and at the porch there are columns that extend twenty feet in the air which hold up a terrace that is about fifty feet across and thirty feet out.  The whole building itself is about six hundred feet long.  It was about four stories high and I couldn't see how far back it went but I was sure it was very far.

"Hey guys come on," Uncle Roy called.

We ran over to him.  "Can we go in," Jen asked.

"Yes, but stay with me for a few days until you become more familiar with the house," Uncle Roy replied.

"All I hear is we can go in," said Maine.  We laughed as we walked in.

  "Wow, was my first response.

At the back of the room there were three marble columns going up to the center of the room, curling around the outside of them were stairs to a balcony that went around the room.  There were two doors on either side of the room.

A boy about my age walked up to us, he came from one of the doors.  He had dark brown, almost black hair, he was about five foot five, well built and the cutest guy I ever saw.  I could tell Maine was crushing on him because she immediately perked up.

"Hi my name is Jake,  are you the girls that everyone's talking about,"  he said with a grin.

"Well, if everyone is talking about us than did anyone mention that I'm available," Maine said batting her eyes.

Jake smiled "Well thanks for telling me," he said with a wink in my direction.  I blushed but tryed to hide it uncessfuly.

Then Jake turned to Uncle Roy, "Good job Roy,"
