Chapter 10: What Happens Next

Anjel, Mulan, Joey, and the others exited the hospital, parting ways for the rest of the day. They celebrated with their loved ones, catching up with what was missed. Jefferson and his family held each other and talked, Mulan and her family stayed inside, holding each other, catching up for lost time between them.

Nobody even saw her coming because nobody knew she was responsible. Qadira dressed in one of her Enchanted Forest specials, a long black lace dress. She hid a sword behind her cape and set off to find the two who had dared to break her curse so quickly.

She found who she was looking for very quickly, she waited for the perfect opportunity to grab her. She quickly came up behind her, clamping a hand over her mouth to keep her quiet, dragging her into the ally.

"How dare you get to be happy when I can never be happy again." She was filled with rage by the woman who had killed her true love for having what she could not.

"I'm sorry, but who are you?"

"I'm the woman who's soon to have been fiancee you killed with an arrow to the heart. You murdered him right when he was to propose. Did you even care that you took his life, that you took him from me? To top it all off just to get my revenge on you, I had to kill my own brother, all because of you. I lost everything because of you and you dare to be happy." Qadira was in a full rant, she was seething with rage.

"How could I have known where that arrow had gone? I had no idea that my misfired arrow would have harmed anyone, it was an accident, one I had no idea happened and I am sorry it did. I need to get back to my family." Anjel said turning to join her family, waving to them to let them know she was coming.

"You don't get to leave like that, turn around, now!" She screamed. " Or I'll kill them all, everyone you've ever loved will die because of you, is that what you wish? I'll make it slow and painful as well, like the pain I felt for my lost love stayed with me."

Anjel turned around, walking back to her, figuring if she could calm her down she would do no harm.

"Listen, you don't need to do this, let's be rational, what would you gain from killing my family? I'd be heartbroken yes, but I would eventually be able to move on. Why can't you move on, you can find someone new?"

"I don't want someone new. I want Darren. He isn't here though, because you killed him with your damn arrow!"

Mulan saw it before Anjel did but it was too late. She called her name, making her turn around as Qadira pulled her hidden sword from behind her cape out. Anjel turned back around and felt the sharpest pain she's ever felt in her life as the blade went all the way through her body, the sword went right into her heart. She gasped, blood coming from her mouth.

"Anjel!" Mulan screamed, watching her true love being killed right in front of her.

'Why?" Anjel's voice came out in a whisper.

"Because it is what is right."

She pulled the sword out of her dying body, causing it to drop to the floor in a heap, blood spilling onto the ground around her. Her laugh echoed throughout the town as she looked at her enemy's body on the ground. Mulan rushed to Anjel's body, tears falling down her face as she pulled her body to hers, sobbing softly.

Her cries soon turned to rage as she charged at Qadira, taking her sword from her, holding it to Qadira's throat. Her eyes ablaze with anger as she stared down the woman who killed her true love. She had been a mother to a two year old boy who she had just been reunited with again.

"Why? Why did you do that, what could she have possibly done to deserve being killed?" Mulan screamed at her, she was drenched in her lover's blood.

"Vengeance." Qadira stuck her head high. "Her arrow killed my lover and my sword killed yours, we're even."

Qadira whipped her cape around her and disappeared in a flash, as if she were never there. Mulan looked around angrily, trying to find her. She gave up soon after when she looked upon her lover's body. She dropped the sword and slowly moved to Anjel's body.

"Don't forget, I loved you when I first saw you and until my final breath." Anjel's voice barely a whisper as she breathed her final breath, staring into Mulan's eyes.

Mulan picks her up and carries her back to the diner, tears begin to fall down her face again as she sobs. Joey can be heard screaming for his mother inside the diner, Emma holding him. People gasp at the sight, rushing to Mulan as she falls to her knees, still holding Anjel's body.

"She's gone." She sobbed out, never letting go of Anjel's body.
