(FPPOV)I woke up on the day of her funeral still in mass disbelief of her being really gone. I know she was gone, I held her lifeless body in my arms five days ago, and yet, nothing seemed real. Joey is too young to understand and constantly asks when his mommy is coming home, sometimes he refuses to go to sleep without her but eventually gives up.

I got him up this morning early enough for breakfast and to get ready for the day. He dons a black suit with a white shirt and blue tie, sporting his batman shoes Anjel got for him. I wore a black lace dress with a black slip underneath with a match handbag. I pick up Joey and grab the car keys so we can drive to the church.

I take a deep breath in the car before opening my door and grabbing Joey, stopping in front of the church. I had to meet up with her parents, this isn't how I wanted to meet them for the first time, at her funeral. I sigh softly and walk up the church steps.

Everybody else looked as miserable as me, except her mother, she looked the life was sucked out of her. When I called her to tell her what had happened, I could hear her cry and scream no, causing her father to say what happened, taking the phone from her. Her only words next were: she's gone.

While attending the funeral all I could think of was how much I missed her. How I wished I could hold her in my arms one last time and tell her how much I loved her. Last thing I knew I was holding her in my arms while she was bleeding out and now I'm here. After the service, I was sitting outside the church with her parents trying to hold myself together for Joey's sake. To not just have a breakdown right now and just give up on life. Anjel wouldn't want that, she would want me to continue living for Joey and her. We talked about her life and all the good times we had with her, I told them about our wedding and how we wished they could've been there. Anjel's mom was slowly calming down enough to speak. Her mother said hoarsely,

"I'm glad that she found her true love. That she was as nice and kind as you. Also that she finally found happiness." She smiled weakly at me then glanced down and noticed a familiar ring on my finger.

"I see she gave you my wedding ring, you must have meant a lot to her. She has never given that ring to anyone. I'm glad that she gave it to you." Her mother went back to looking at the ground missing her daughter. Her dad spoke up hoarsely as well saying,

"We are glad you were her true love, by the way we aren't taking Joey from you, we trust that you will take care of him and raise him right." By the time we finished talking everyone was walking to the parking lot, dispersing to their vehicles and leaving. Joey and I said our goodbyes and went to Anjel's old car that is now mine, I guess. Joey buckled himself in and we left the church to go to Granny's.
