Kyungsoo stands there bemused for a few seconds after they go on their separate ways with the strange man in the elevator.

she travelled up one more floor and got out from the elevator.

Clearly unsure about what happened back in the elevator.

She heads to her desk and decides to call Ken. He stays at home alone tonight since auntie had to leave early in the evening. She had a meeting with her friends in one of the cafes in the city.

After a few rings he answers. ken was the first who spoke, he spoke with melody in his voice.

"oh wassap baby bro~" He said.

Kyungsoo sighed and hit her head on her computer's keyboard at his statement.

"are you drunk ken?" She said and chuckles could be heard from The other line. Ken sometimes teases Kyungsoo for how strong and boyish she acts, and he usually calls her 'baby bro' to tease her further, not that Kyungsoo minds.

"anyway I'm going home late tonight so don't wait for me and you should go to bed first...okay?"

Ken made an 'oooo' sound and continued.

" and what's going on that makes you come home late...hmm?" He said mockingly.

Kyungsoo could sense that right now he was having his moment and polluting his mind with nasty thoughts as he is smirking at her.

"It's work...I have a night shift today...oh and...don't forget to lock every door in the house"

she said as she held her opening mouth to hide her yawn at the office.

But before she could get an answer from ken. Suddenly she hears a loud noise in the background on the phone. she sat straight in her seat.

"What...what was that sound ken?" Kyungsoo said in a panicked voice.

Ken seem to be hesitant for a second and called her name in a low slow way, sweat formed on the back of Kyungsoo's head. Ken never says her full name if it's not something as serious as it could be right now.

"Ken what's wrong...speak!" Kyungsoo hardly was trying to contain herself from not losing her nerves as her brother stammers on his answer.

"i-i.....just..................farted"

He burst into laughter and wished he could've seen her expression at the moment, he was a real prankster and Kyungsoo sometimes hates it.

"You're pretty lucky that I'm not going home to beat your ass" she said with clenched teeth.

"Yeah yeah love you too" he said and they hung up.

But still no one can tell if the sound that came from the background on the phone wasn't a sound of ...something else.

She went back working on some files after ken made a deal with her that she will come back by a cab rather than walking back alone at this late hour.

Everything continued on as normal as she worked the rest of her shift.

It's 1 am and her shift ends.

Kyungsoo opens the door and steps out from the building, she hears some noise in the air around the place, she looked up and suddenly everything make sense. it was the wind that was so noisy, it was strong enough that she could feel her hair raising up and swimming into the air.

she sat down on a bench in front of the company, waiting for a taxi to arrive. She brushed her dark brown short hair with her fingers and put on her hood to protect it from the wind.

She looked at each side of the road but it was so empty and lifeless, there was no one around.

Not even a single soul...

She sighed and sat back as she crossed her arms.

luckily she saw two faint lights from the end of the street, a worn out yellow car was heading from afar of the road to her direction and hopefully it was a taxi.

She stood up and reached her hand out giving the cab driver a sign of stopping. The driver seemed to notice her and he stopped in front of her. She got inside the car and greeted the man politely.

But to her surprise the man didn't answer and the car started moving.

Kyungsoo didn't take it seriously as she glanced outside the window. She was tired to the bones and her mind was filled with worries, thinking about her brother's words that he told her the other day, that the time came and he will soon have to leave her and study abroad.

Kyungsoo's eyes filled with warm salty water as she didn't know how she could continue living without her brother, how abandoned the house will be without him around, and that who will relieve her stress everyday.

Kyungsoo's gaze wandered outside of the car and what hit her so suddenly wasn't the realization that the area around them looked unfamiliar, but that she never told the driver where was her destination.

and still....he continued on driving,

taking her...to the middle

of nowhere.
