~Matt's POV~

"Katie!" I yell running over to her car.

"Sup Matt." She replies.

"Talking to a beautiful girl." I tell her. Smooth, I know.

The truth is, I think I might be crushing on her, but she has a boyfriend and I don't know what he would do to me if I asked her out.

I hop into the passenger seat of her car and she drives to my house. I grab my house key out of my pocket and unlock the door.

"Hey Dad!" I greet him. He waves at us from the living room. I guide Katie up to my room and I take a seat in my desk chair. She sits at the edge of my bed.

"So what do you want to do?" I ask.

"Teach me something you like to do." She says confidently.

I lead her downstairs and outside. I grab my skateboard and my brother's skateboard. I watch her playing with her hair at the end of my driveway. She's so cute. Gosh stop it Matt! She's taken. She wouldn't like you anyways. She should though! Kyle barely pays attention to her and you can tell from a mile away. He just uses her cause she's so pretty. A popularity thing. Shame on him, using a girl like her.

"I'm going to teach you how to ride this." I say, rolling my brother's over to her. I get onto mine and ride over to her.

"Okay. Sounds good." She replies, nodding her head. She stands on the board and looks at me for guidance.

"Okay well it's pretty simple. Push off with one foot and balance yourself. It's not to hard." I instruct. I stand behind her just in-case she falls. She does as she's told and goes for a few seconds.

"How was that?" She asks nervously.

"Good. Ready to go for a ride?" I ask. She nods as I skate next to her. After 2 minutes, her small pushes turn into her doing tricks and spins around the road.

"I may have forgotten to tell you that I know how to skateboard." She finally admits after giggling at my confused face.

"Were you planning on telling me or where you going to let me teach you forever?" I laugh.

"It's cute when you play teacher though." She called you cute. It doesn't mean anything.

We ride around for a while. The whole time I am thinking about her calling me Matthew Lee Espinosa cute. Maybe I just imagined it. What if I'm going crazy?

"Okay, now show me something you like to do." I finally say.

"Follow me." She rides in a different direction until she stops at her house. There aren't any cars there so I'm guessing her parents are at work. She opens the door and leaves the skateboard against the wall outside the house. I do the same.

She leads me to her room and grabs a guitar.

"I'm going to teach you how to play guitar!" Katie exclaims. She looks so excited. I nod as she strums the first chord.

"Try." Katie instructs and I do.

"Perfect! I remember in 8th grade when I was bored, Brooke and I always used to make little songs and pretend we were famous. We would sing those songs all the time. It was fun. It was before the worries of high school." Katie told me.

"That sounds fun." I say. "I want to hear you sing."

"Okay..." She thinks for a minutes before she starts strumming to a song I already knew. "As Long As You Love Me." I hum along to her angelic voice until she's finished. The next thing you know, I'm leaning in for a kiss.

~Katie's POV~

Once I finish singing, Matt starts leaning in. I lean away from him.

"Matt. I'm sorry, but I have a boyfriend. I can't kiss you." I say quietly, but loud enough for him to get the message.

"I've been wanting to ask you this for a while Katie. Why are you dating Kyle? He's a jerk. No offence." He mumbles.

"One. He's not a jerk and two, he actually likes me for who I am and we just had a connection. Is that a good enough answer?" I ask defensively.

"He doesn't treat you with respect from what I've seen. He pays attention to his friends more than his girlfriend. You think that's what being special feels like Katie? You could do so much better."  He shouts.

"Like who, Matt? Who else would even dare to like me. No one." I yell.

"I should go." He says before dashing out of the room. I wait until I hear my front door close when I call the only person that can make me feel better. Kyle? Nope. Brookie!

Brooke: Katie! What's up?

Katie: Matt is what's up. He tried to kiss me!

Brooke: Matthew Espinosa? Hold on I'll be right there.

She hangs up. A  few minutes later, my room door opens. I'm glad to know that Matt cares about my safety enough to lock my front door on his way out. Sarcasm intended.

"Spill it! He tried to kiss you?" She asks, flopping on my bed next to me.

"Yep. He then yelled at me about dating a 'jerk' like Kyle. He ran off after that." I sigh.

"Well you should stop hanging out with Matt if he's going to tell you who to date and who not to date. Problem solved!" She exclaims, putting a smile on her face.

"Him coming back into your life was a bad idea. We aren't in elementry school anymore."

"No. The problem isn't solved," I say. "Because I think I wanted to kiss him."
