Something Special ❤ A Matthew Espinosa Fanfic

Chapter 1

~Katie's POV~ 

"Okay everyone! Your next assignment is to interview someone you don't know much about, and write a 3 page essay about what you've learned about that person." Mrs. Green says, writing on the board.

Let me introduce myself. My name is Katie and I'm 17 years old. I'm ordinary, maybe less than that if it's possible. I'm not really special. I have brown hair that's pretty long and greenish-blue eyes. Oh yeah, I'm a cheerleader, and in my school that's a big thing. I'm the only normal one of my team. 

I'm the only one that doesn't wear shorts that are to short or sleeps in a different guys bed every week or is plain out snobby. I'm kind of the invisible one. The girls on the team don't like me because I refuse to get high after games and to skip class every Monday.

I live with my Mom and Dad and I love them both so much. I have one sister, but she lives in California so I'm like an only child. That's probably why I'm so independent. 

My favorite color is light blue and my favorite band is R5. There's not much more to know about me because I'm one of those people who blend in with the crowd easily. I'm what you call 'unspecial.'

"I will be picking your partners so you won't be with your friends" Mrs Green says. She puts a list of names on the projector. I look through it until I find my name.

Katie and Matt 

My eyes trace the room until it lands on one of the guys on the football team. We're friends I guess, but we barely ever talk anymore. He laughs at something his friend says. What if it's about me? I hate it when people talk about me. Huh.

I take notes from my textbook until the bell rings. I pack up my stuff and push myself through the crowd of people that's heading out the door. 

"Katie!" I turn around to Matt walking up to me. "So when do you want to get together for the project?" 

"Um, if  you want you can come over after school" I tell him.

Sounds good. Oh wait, my parents have work today so I have to feed my dog.

Would it be okay if we do it at my house?" He asks. I nod. "Great!  Meet me outside after school."

With that, he walked in the other direction and I headed to my next class, science. It was boring as always. Nothing new. 

-"Hey babe! What are you doing today?" Kyle asks me, only half paying attention because his friends are surrounding him. He takes my hand, which he always does, but as always never really talks to me.

"Nothing much. Going to Matt's house to work on our English project." I say as we head out the door.

"Yea, cool. Have fun." He says rushing in the other direction with his friends.

I look around until I find Matt standing against the wall of the building. He has a skateboard tucked under his arm. I wave at him as I make my way over there.

"Hey! Um, I skated here." Matt says showing me his board.

"I drove here. Follow me." I say. I lead him to my car and he gets in the passenger. I throw my backpack into the back of my red Honda that I got for my 17th birthday which was a few months ago. I get in the front seat and buckle up. He gives me directions to his house and we get there in 10 minutes. 

"Home sweet home!" Matt says opening up the door and throwing his bag on the ground. He leads me to the kitchen and poors some dog food in a bowl and some water in another. Soon, a dog runs in and tries to lick Matt's face off.

"Are you hungry?" Matt asks.

"A little bit." I smile. 

"Here's some strawberries" He says, placing a bowl of freshly cut strawberries on the counter.

"They're my favorite!" I gush. I watch as he takes out a bowl of already cut strawberries.

" I know, we were best friends for like a thousand years, remember? Help yourself Miss Katie." He says, taking off the lid like I'm getting served at a fancy restuarant.

"Why thank you Sir Matthew." I reply.

"Wow you haven't changed at all." Matt smiles.

"What do you mean?"

"I figured when you started cheerleading you would change, but your still the same old Katie. I missed you." 

"I missed you too."
