Mathew waited in his car for a few minutes as he was in hopes to gather himself together before meeting up with Kol.

It was almost midnight and he was actually more than shocked that Kol even answered his phone this late. He looked up to the coffee shop to see Kol and an older gentlemen already sitting in the shop. He had seen this guy before, but never actually meet him or knew his name.

He heard something about Kol having a body guard or something like that... But why? Kol beat the crap out of more people than anyone he knew.

Mathew got out of his car and headed inside the shop. He made his way slowly to where Kol and the guy was sitting. His hands shoved into his pockets as he approached them.

Sidney looked up from his coffee to notice the younger male. He looked to Kol as Kol casually looked over his shoulder. Kol turned to Sidney and snapped his finger before motioning for the guy to leave.

Sidney rolled his eyes and took up his coffee and headed for another table nearby, letting the two have their space.

Mathew watched Sidney leave before turning to Kol. Kol motioned for Mathew to have a seat. Mathew took it quickly. Sliding into the booth he felt nervous. He knew exactly why though. He wasn't fond of telling others about his home situation to begin with. And here he was wanting to talk about it with Kol.

To help the situation he pointed towards Sidney. "Body guard?" Mathew asked.

Kol laughed, "Sure." Kol responded with a hint of sarcasm.

"Can I get you guys anything?" A waitress asked as she came over to the table quickly.

Kol motioned to his cup, "A refill." He nodded. He then pointed to Mathew, "And what ever he wants." He waved it off like it was no big deal.

Mathew looked from Kol to the waitress, "I'm fine." He said shyly.

Kol shook his head, "Order something, or I'm gonna order you the worst thing on the menu." He nodded with an angered look.

Mathew was quickly regretting calling Kol. Just the glare alone. "Coffee." Mathew quickly told the woman.

The girl nodded and gave the two a smile before walking off.

Silence was not something Kol seemed to like. "What happen?" He asked.

Mathew felt like he drove himself into a corner. He took in a deep breath and let it out slowly. "It's really nothing." Mathew stated. He kept his gaze from meeting Kol's. If he did, he felt like Kol would be able to read his mind and find out everything.

Kol watched Mathew and let a finger run around the rim of his coffee mug. "Was it your dad?" Kol asked tilting his head.

Mathew jolted up, surprised that Kol guessed it in one shot.

Kol smirked, "I am a good guesser." Kol stated with a cocky grin. Kol leaned forward, "So what happen?" He asked.

Mathew quickly felt horrible. "He's just a drunk." Mathew diverted his eyes as Kol watched him.

"Probably a prick too." Kol let himself lean back into his seat as the lady came back with their order. Once more the table was quiet while she was there.

After she left Kol started to put sugar into his coffee, letting it pour from the glass container...

"That's a lot of sugar." Mathew pointed out.

Kol smirked, "A lot of sugar to balance out the darkness in me." Kol seemed proud of his statement. While Mathew felt awkward over it. Kol was indeed weird.
