The week went by pretty fast. Louis worked at the diner with a newfound pep in his step which caused his manager Ms. Shawna to give him a raise and he greatly appreciated it. There was only one downside the entire week, Louis still hasn't talked to Zayn. Louis was missing his best friend and it made the week a lot harder than it needed to be. So many more alphas were hassling the small omega since he didn't smell like an alpha and because no one was there to protect him.

It's Friday and Louis was working until 5pm and it was 4:55. He was anxiously looking at the clock every five seconds. Harry texted him and said that he didn't need to dress up too fancy because it would just be at their house. He also told Louis that Marcel would be there to pick him up on his way home from the office, it would be around 7.

Louis sighed when he heard another person come in the doors. That meant he would have to seat another table and give them their drinks before he could leave.

"Lou?" A familiar voice asked.

If this was a perfect world, a beautiful romantic movie then it would have been Marcel or Harry there to drive him home after work and make out in the parking lot like crazy teenagers. Sadly it wasn't. Louis looked over to the entrance and saw Zayn. He was wearing his usual clothes; jeans, graphic tee, and a beanie.

"H-Hi?" Louis mumbled. He was so mad, beyond upset. How could he be so weak and let Zayn's presence alone make him so soft? Zayn should be on his knees begging for Louis to forgive because he called him that name, Nate always called him that name too. Zayn knew how much it would hurt if he said it, but he chose to say it anyway.

Zayn frowned when he heard how his best friend's voice broke. "I know, I'm so sorry Lou. I-"

"Stop it Zayn." Louis said firmly. This wasn't a time for Louis to broken, not all over again. He needs to be strong to prove that Zayn isn't allowed to treat Louis like that. Zayn prancing in here and saying sorry isn't going to make everything okay again.

"I don't want to hear what you have to say right now."

"No Louis, let me talk." Zayn begged. "I know I was a horrible friend that night and I'm so sorry. I was acting like him."

Zayn looked at Louis hopefully. He desperately wanted his best friend back. He wanted to go back to eating junk food and cuddling with the tiny omega and making jokes about the people their dating at the time.

Louis looked over the clock and saw it read 5:01, it was finally time to go home. "I don't have time for this, my shift is over." Louis announced before skating to the back.

"Wait let me drive you home? We can go pick up some ice cream on the way." Zayn called out. His voice was loud and boomed through the entire diner, everyone looked over at him. He didn't care one bit, all he cared about was getting his friend back. He ignored all the looks sent his way.

Louis took off his skates and put on his toms then shortly after he shoved his skates in his locker and grabbed his bag. He walked back to the dining area and saw Zayn still standing there. "I'd rather walk." He declared before walking to the exit. It wouldn't be a huge deal. It was a late summer, right before air got cold to prepared for fall, so it was still warm outside.

"No please"

Louis sighed when he heard Zayn's desperate tone, he didn't have time for this. He had to get ready for his dinner 'date' with Marcel and Harry.

"Even if I wanted to, I can't. I have plans." Louis walked out of the diner without looking back. He'll decide if he wanted to reach out to Zayn to talk more in depth about what happened it would be later, but for now he has to leave.
