Chapter 29 - Farewell Dream

-Haise/Kaneki's Dream-
Haise opens his eyes and the thing he can see is a field with flowers surround him. He looks around and he saw a man with white hair.

S.H : Kaneki?
K.K : Hey, so you have been summoned here too huh?
S.H : What is this place?
K.K : Dunno, I ended here too after I wake up from my sleep.

While they are drowning in confusion, someone calls them from behind. Both Haise and Kaneki turns around, they see a slender man with blue hair and a woman with silver hair.

S.H : ... Eh, you are?!
Hikari : Sorry we startled you, maybe you already know who we are. Nice to meet you son-in-law..my name is Hikari.
Arata : And I am Arata, nice to meet you.
S.H : Oh! N-Nice to meet you!!
K.K : Nice to meet ya too.
Arata : Ya?
S.H : Hey, can you be more polite?! They are your parents-in-law too! Sorry, he has foul mouth.
K.K : But I am you too..

Both of Haise and Kaneki argues then both of Hikari and Arata laugh.

Hikari : We already know who you are. Kaneki and Haise..the same person and yet their personality is different.
K.K : ...You know about that?
Arata : Of course since we have been watching you guys all this time.
S.H : By the way, are you the one who call us here? Do you need something from us?

Hikari and Arata stares each other then they smiles as they hold each other's hand.

Hikari : We come here to say thank you and-
Arata : It's time we need to go. After we see our children are happy, we can finally rest. 
S.H : ...I see, you don't have many time left. By the way, have you bid farewell to Touka and Ayato?
Hikari : We already met Ayato. Even he is already an adult, he still cry. After this, we will meet Touka.
Arata : Ah~ I still want to play with our grandchild.
K.K : You met them?
Hikari : Just now. My husband really like to swing Shiro but he made Kuro cries because of it.
Arata : *sob* Sorry..
Hikari : *sigh* Now dear, shall we go to our daughter now?

Arata nods then both of them approaches Haise and Kaneki and hug their son-in-law.

Hikari : Sasaki Haise and Kaneki Ken..thank you for helping and make our daughter happy. We were worried that she will be trapped in guilty feeling but because of both of you..she learn to live and move on.
Arata : And thank you..for not to abandon her. From now on, we will leave her and our grandchildren to you. Take care of them, okay?

The tears are flowing from Kaneki's and Haise's eyes and they hug them back.

"We will. Goodbye, mother, father.". After they bid farewell, Arata and Hikari disappear.

K.K : ...They are gone.
S.H : Yeah, they are really kind, right?
K.K : Yeah, I'm glad I can meet them. By the way Haise, it's time for us to switch.
S.H : Alright.

-Touka's Dream-
Touka opens her eyes and she sees a field of flowers. Her eyes are sparkling then she decides to take a walk. Several minutes later, she sees two person from afar and she recognizes them by the hair color; the blue haired man and silver haired woman. She keep running and after she sees them from closer, her eyes widened.

"...Mom? Dad?", asks Touka as she can feel her voice is shaking. Hikari and Arata smile as they see their daughter and Touka immediately hugs them as her tears fall from her eyes.

K.T : Mom..dad.. I miss you so much.
Hikari & Arata : Me too.

After several minutes they hug each other, Hikari lets her go first and suddenly she hits Touka's head hardly. Arata dumbfounded meanwhile Touka rubs her swollen head to reduce the pain. 

"Mom?! What the-", Touka stops her words as she is seeing Hikari crying in front of her.

K.T : M-Mom?
Hikari : Touka, why did you do that?
K.T : Eh? That?
Hikari : You tried to suicide, didn't you!?!
K.T : T-That's.. I'm sorry, mom, dad. I'm really sorry.
Arata : She is right. Fortunately that boy stood in front of your door. Since we can't touch you, we use that boy to help you.
K.T : Both of you who let him enter the house?

Both of them nodded and it makes Touka's heart throbs.

K.T : I..I'm so lonely. For years, I tried to take the burden by myself but in the end I can't take it anymore.
Hikari : I'm sorry..Touka.. We left you and Ayato at such young age. *sigh* Look at your hair, it turns into white and it's because of us-

Touka shakes her head and she gives a smile.

"It's true that I keep blame myself about what happened to you but.. 'He'..Haise..told me that it's not my fault and I know it's not your fault either. You are not leaving us intentionally. That day..you two tried to protect us and because of you, I and Ayato live until now. You two are my greatest parent. I really love you, mom, dad.. Thank you."

While crying, Arata and Hikari hugs their daughter for the last time as their bodies become fading away.

K.T : ...Are you leaving?
Arata : Yes, after looking that you already live happy.. We can rest in peace.
Hikari : Haise and Kaneki..both of them are good person, I'm sure they will always give you happiness.
K.T : I know, right?
Arata & Hikari : Touka.. Even you can't see us..just remember that we always live in your heart. Now, it's time for us to go. Goodbye, my child.
K.T : ...Yeah, goodbye..mom..dad.

-The Next Morning-
Kuro and Shiro rush into their parent's bedroom and they try to wake them up.

"Mommy! Daddy! We met granma and granpa last night!", yell the twin but none of them awake.

Shiro shakes his mother but Touka won't wake up then he startled when he sees his mother is crying in her sleep.

Kuro : Uwaah!! Shiro, what happen to mommy?!
Shiro : I don't know! Mommy won't wake up!! Kuro, wake daddy up first!
Kuro : I shake him but he won't wake up too!
Shiro : That's not how to wake him up! He is sleepy head! Learn it from me!

Shiro run toward the bed and he jumps onto his father stomach while yelling.

Shiro : DAAAD!!! WAKE UUUUUP!
? : OOF! SHIRO, YOU BRAT!!
Kuro : Huwaaa?!?
Shiro : 'Brat'? Oh, daddy Kaneki! Wake up wake up wake up!!!
K.K : Don't be loud in the morning. Ouch..my stomach.
Shiro : Something wrong with mommy!!

Kaneki rubs his eyelids for several times then sit on the bed and sees his wife is crying in her sleep. He slowly wipes her tears and he strokes her cheek gently. Not long after, Touka opens her eyes and sees her husband, Kaneki leans down and gives her a kiss on the forehead.

K.K : Morning, babe. Have you said farewell to them too?
K.T : (..Babe? Oh..) Morning, Kaneki.
Shiro & Kuro : Mommy, are you okay?! Is something hurt?!
K.T : Kids, I'm okay. It's..I just bid farewell to your granma and granpa.
Shiro & Kuro : Really?! We met them too last night!

Touka sits on the bed and she hugs the twin.

K.T : What do you think about them?
Shiro : I like granpa very much, he swung me around and granma is cool!
Kuro : ...I don't like be swing like that but granpa is kind and granma is brave person. I like them so much!
K.T : I see..
K.K : Hmm babe, do you want to visit their grave?
K.T : Mm..should we?
Kuro & Shiro : Let's get change, Kuro/Shiro!

The twins head to their room, leaving both of their parents. Kaneki hugs his wife and kiss her cheek.

K.K : Last night, I talk with them..they are really kind and I really like them. Also, they ask me to protect you and make you happy.
K.T : *smile* I know you will like them. Both of you and Haise already give me happiness. Thank you, honey.. I love you.

Kaneki's eyes widened then he let Touka go and avert his eyes from her as he tries to hide his blush face but Touka already sees it and she smiles.

"Both of you and Haise are cute~. Now, shall we prepare too?"
