"Stop it! Stop it please!" I cry, hitting Jungkook over and over, but he never lets me go, only holding me tighter with each strike. The tears stream down my face as I watch Taehyung in pain.
Taehyung cries out again as Luke digs his knife deeper into Taehyung's side, smiling gleefully the whole time.
"Only you can stop it Ara," My father shrugs. "Come back to me, save the innocent boy, he doesn't deserve this." He was right, Taehyung didn't deserve any of this. He was just a sweet guy, someone who didn't belong in this world, and he definitely didn't deserve what what was happening to him right now.
And it was all because of me.
"Raymond!" Namjoon's powerful voice booms over Taehyung's cries and my sobbing. "Take me! Leave the kid he did nothing." I gasp at Namjoon's proposition, shocked by his words. I dont seem to be the only one shocked by his words though because Jungkook loosens his grip on me and I slip free, only to be caught by Yoongi and pulled over to him. His nails dig into my wrist and I wince. He seems to be giving me a look that says 'don't do anything stupid.'
"That's very kind Namjoon," My father looks to be pondering the offer.
"Namjoon don't, please," I beg, looking up at him. I may be upset with him for almost giving me up in the beginning but that didn't mean I wanted to see him where Taehyung was. He was still my family, and I needed him.
"Ara stay out of it you're way too attached to this," Yoongi pulls me back to his chest and whispers in my ear. I whip my head around and glare at him for being so I sensitive, but he just gives me a hard look, telling me he's being serious.
"Ara," Taehyung gasps as Luke suddenly pulls the knife out of his side. There's a hole in his shirt now, blood soaking through it and pooling on the ground next to him. He needed help, if I didn't act fast he was going to bleed out, and he was going to die.
"Please don't go to him," Taehyung spits, blooding dripping from his lips. "Don't do it for me."
"You'll die," I whimper, feeling Yoongis grip on me tighten as I start to lose myself in Taehyung's eyes.
"Oh look at this," Luke chuckles, cleaning his knife off with his shirt, Taehyung's blood now staining it. "The big, bad Indigo, killer of men, a softie?" He taunts.
"I never killed anyone," I growl. "It was all you."
"And that's why I'm going to win," Luke smirks. "Because you don't have the guts to finish the job. You've always been weak Ara. From the first day I met you I knew, you were weak. But I trained you anyway, shaped you into the fighter you are today-"
"You abused me!" I scream. "You made my life hell! You never taught me, you beat me! Until I was so afraid of you that I had to stand up for myself!" I step on Yoongis foot and he lets me go with a yelp. I run for Luke, seeing red and only wanting one thing: to see him hurt.
"Ara!" I only stop when Taehyung yells out, making me stop in my tracks, right in front of Luke, who now has his knife pressed against my throat. I gulp, feeling the blade dig a little into my skin.
"Luke," My father's tone is not playful, not teasing, but deadly serious. "Put the knife down," He says lowly. Luke looks at me with dark eyes, not eyes full of lust, but of blood lust. He really wanted to hurt me. But he pulled his knife away from my throat, glaring at me the whole time.
"Ara come back," it was Hoseok who said this, his voice as even and calm as it could be in the situation. He was trying to coax me back over so he or another one of them could hold me back again. But I wasn't letting that happen again.
I dropped to my knees in front of Taehyung, taking his face in my hands and lifting it up so he was looking at me.
"Hey, hey, it's gonna be okay," I whisper to him. He just shakes his head, eyes glassy and dull, probably because of the blood dripping at his side.
"Ara don't go back to them," Taehyung coughs. "They'll only hurt you. I promised you, I promised that they wouldn't hurt you anymore..." Taehyung trails off. I watch as a few tears escape his eyes and my own eyes start to feel wet. I take my thumb and wipe away his tears, smiling sadly at him.
"Taehyung it's okay, I'm gonna get you out of this, all of you," I whisper. "I will not let anything else happen to you, understand?"
"Ara..." I whip my head around at the sound of Jungkook's voice. He looks sad, looking at me and Taehyung, almost like he'd heard our quiet conversation. "Ara please don't," He shakes his head. I offer him a small smile. Funny, even now, in such a dire time, Jungkook could read me better than anyone in the room. He knew my mind was made up, he knew my choice. And he was not happy with it.
"Ara I lo-" Jungkook bites his tongue. "I just got you back, I couldn't bear to lose you again." His words send waves of remorse through my body but I shake it off. My mind was made up, I was doing the right thing, I knew it, even if they didn't see it.
"Don't go," This was Yoongi. He seemed to have picked up on what was happening. I furrowed my brow at him. He looked desperate, like he cared more than he let on. But was the one claimed he wanted me gone the most.
"Why?" I ask him. He sucks in a sharp breath, looking away from me. He wasn't going to tell me. Figures.
"Namjoon?" I turn my attention to my cousin. "Thank you," I say quietly. His eyes widen and he opens his mouth to speak but no words come out. It seems everyone in the room had figured out my plan.
"Taehyung," I turn back to him. "About what you said before we left," I lean in closer to him. I watch him gulp, probably thinking this wasn't the time to discuss that. But it was really the only time. I bite my lip before I press soft kiss to Taehyung's lips, savoring every second like it was my last.
"I love you too."
I don't see Jungkook's face fall or hear his heart shatter. I don't see Yoongi ball his fists up or bite his tongue. I dont see Namjoon's face contort to one of horror, Jimin smiling sadly at me, Hoseok covering his mouth with his hand, or even Taehyung's reaction to my words, because I'm walking away from them all.
I'm walking towards my father.
"Ara!" Namjoon yells, but I just shut my eyes and force my feet to keep walking. I hear Luke cackle behind me, the sound sending shivers down my spine.
"And she crumbles!" He hollers. He stalks over to me and begins to walk with me towards my father, grabbing my wrist and whispering in my ear. "Goodbye Ara Fey, welcome back Indigo, I'll make a real killer of you yet."
I wanted to cry, it felt so wrong but I couldn't let Taehyung die, or any of them for that matter. They meant too much to me.
"Welcome home Ara," My father opened his arms wide for me. Like he was wanting me to run to him with a big hug. I had almost reached him, I was so close to sealing the deal.
I didn't hear someone sneaking up behind Luke and I.
I didn't see the man behind my father load his gun.
But I heard the gunshot and the scream, and suddenly, my world came crashing down.
