Madeline held my hand as we walked down the stairs to the party. I was in awe of everyone here, I didnt even know that many people.
I knew Namjoon had invited them all, he was very sociable. And while we had similar childhoods, his was still very different from mine.
I couldn't help but think about Jungkook as I looked around at all the decorations and people too. It was all his idea, and I had to think he was crazy, but also, incredibly sweet.
"Ara!"
The cry came from every side. I stopped in my tracks and looked around at the three men who had stopped me.
Taehyung was to my right, looking desperate. Yoongi stood to my left, a guilty expression coating his face. Finally, Jungkook was right in front of me, and he was the only one who was smiling.
"Ara," a new voice spoke. I whirled around and saw a smiling Jimin, looking handsome as ever in his suit. "Dance with me," he holds out his hand. I can feel the three guys eyes burning holes into the back of my head. But listening to Madeline's advice from earlier, I smile and take Jimin's hand.
"I would love to dance with you," I say, letting him literally drag me away from my problems. The three guys stand in their spots shocked I had ignored them. Madeline is standing nearby, holding in her laughter.
"You look gorgeous," Jimin smiles, placing one hand on my waist while the other goes to my hand.
"And you look very handsome," I smirk. "Thank you for that," I nod my head slightly back where we came from. Jimin starts to move his feet then, guiding me across the dance floor with ease.
"Always here to help," He chuckles. "I saw them eyeing you like lions zoning in on their prey and decided it would be best to make a appearance."
I throw my head back and laugh at his comment, feeling the stress of before wash away. I let Jimin spin me around and lift me up, making me feel like a princess.
"You're a really good dancer," I praise him, making him blush.
"If you think I'm good, you should dance with Hoseok at least once tonight," He muses. I nod and we continue our path across the dance floor, weaving in and out of other couples. "They're lost without you," Jimin nods his head to the side. I follow his gaze and see them all; Taehyung, Jungkook, and Yoongi. They all looked miserable.
"They'll be fine," I say, more to myself than Jimin.
"What are you planning on doing about them?" He inquires. "We all can sense what's going on."
"I don't know," I admit, my smile faltering. "But let's not worry about that right now," I smile again. "I'm dancing with you."
I watch Jimin's face light up and he sweeps me faster across the floor, making me burst into a fit of giggles. I was having fun, just like I was supposed to tonight; but I couldn't help the uneasy feeling in my stomach. I just knew, something was going to go wrong.
"Can I cut in?" I jump when Jungkook appears next to me. Jimin sends me a look asking if its okay and I nod.
"Sure," I smile at Jungkook. Jimin winks at me and lets me go, disappearing into the crowd.
"Happy birthday," Jungkook smiles at me, placing his hand were Jimin's had previously been. "You look beautiful."
"Thank you," I smile as our feet start to move and he guides me across the floor like Jimin had. The difference between them was that I felt like Jungkook took more of the lead, making sure I was following him closely.
"I know it's early but I want to give you your present now," He smiles at me, stopping his movements. I cock an eyebrow at him and chuckle, amused by his eagerness.
