Time for Truth (2)

They were sitting beside the lake. Kanika's anger had changed into caring.
As Ruhi had given her apology and had texted Abhi for meeting her.

"So now you are really going...."Kanika sadly sighed.
"Hmmm..."Ruhi replied with sadness.
"But I don't get it."
"What?"
"Why did they accepted you in such a nice and prestigious school. No, it's not even like you are a topper or something?"
"Yah!." Ruhi yelled.
"No, I am not saying that you are a stupid either. I mean, it's strange for such a nice school to accept an average student in a middle of a year."
"What? Average?!"Ruhi yelled again.
But Kanika had no intention to take in her words.
"Okay....I accept it...and I also found it strange. But my mom told me that that a student has recently transferred from a class there and also my mom have some connections."
"Hmmm....I get it now. But anyway, I am going to miss you..."
Ruhi looked towards Kanika she was looking towards the lake and her eyes wet. Ruhi knew she was just about to cry. So she placed her arm around her neck and placed her head on Kanika's shoulder.
"I'll miss you too." Ruhi tried not to sound weak while saying this but she choked.
"Are you going to crying?" Kanika asked trying to sound astonished.
"Aren't you going to?" Ruhi replied.
And they couldn't do anything else but laughed trying hard to stop themselves from crying.

"See here, what is happening."
A sudden voice came from the other side of Ruhi which almost made her jump. She turned towards the direction of voice and it was Abhi.
Their face were so close.
"Are you cheating on me?" Abhi asked with sarcasm with a expression that made Ruhi's heart race faster.
It feels like This is the first time my face is soo close to his. Why can't I move my eyes.
Then Abhi noticed the tears in Ruhi's eyes.
"Are you crying?" He asked with care and curiosity.
At that Ruhi immediately moved her face and cleaned her eyes.
"Hey Kanika! What is it? Now you are making my girlfriend cry?" Abhi tried to scold Kanika but then noticed her tears. He got confused and looked at both of them.
Kanika immediately ran her fingers through her eyes. "Okay. I'll be going then."she said and turned around to go.
"Well, I was just joking. We three can enjoy together." Abhi suggested.
She turned and started explaining, "No, I know you were joking but....just look at the weather, the lake, the time. It is all perfect for two lovers."
"Is that the reason you two are here?"
He looked at Ruhi with a teasing voice but she was looking at the lake.
His expressions changed to confusion probably thinking what was up with her. He looked at Ruhi than Riya.
"See? She wants to be with you alone. So, bye! See ya!" Kanika said and walked away, hurriedly.
Abhi still confused. Looking at Kanika and then at Ruhi them.
"What happened? Did you two fight or something?" Abhi asked, sitting next to Ruhi.
"Something like that." Ruhi looked towards him and smiled.
"Then I'll not go deep between your arguments and make you happy again." He said before holding her hand and taking her into the video game parlor.
"From which game should we start?"
He asked.
At this Ruhi could not resist but break into a smile.

So they both played each game and and ate ice cream and softies and cotton candy. And at last there they were, back to their way to home.

I have to say it now. Ruhi decided.
"Abhi..."
"Hm. What is it?"
"Actually..I wanted to say that-"
Abhi interrupted in between. He suddenly took her wrist and raised it while speaking out loud," I don't want this girl to ever go away- ugh.. I missed it." He moved his hand down but still holding her wrist.
Ruhi looked at his hand holding her wrist and then at him. He was looking at the sky in frustration.
She assumed that he wanted to make a wish through a shooting star.
How can I leave him like This, he loves me so much.
Then he realised that she was starring at him and looked towards her and asked,"What? It was a shooting star." He continued,"Are you angry I didn't listened to you? I'm sorry..."
But she was still starring at him without saying anything.
"So? What were you saying?" He asked with his face coming closer to hers. She could fell his hand on her wrist.
"I was saying that..." She said still looking in his. I can see how happy he is with me. Then she looked at the sky and than at the beautiful full moon.
"Promise me, that on every evening at exactly this moment you will look at the moon for a minute."
Abhi looked at his watch and then at the moon." You mean at 7:30PM?" He asked.
She immediately looked towards him and asked," Is that the time??"
"So what do you thought?" He asked sarcastically.
"Shut up... My mom would be worried. I need to go."
She hurriedly moved but after taking 2steps she was stuck. He was still holding her wrist. She turned around thinking he is doing this to irritate her but he had a serious face on and after seeing his face she too became serious.
"Was that really what you wanted to say?"he asked.
She didn't knew what to say. They just kept staring at each other for few seconds which felt like few hours to Ruhi. She was just about to tell everything to him but it seemed like she was not supposed to because her mom called at that very moment.
She answered her,
"Hello Ruhi? Where are you dear? It's all dark outside come home fast!" Her mom said worriedly.
"I am sorry mom. I'll be their soon."she replied and hunged up.
"Your mom is really worried about you." Abhi said and released her wrist.
Ruhi nodded and said,"I'll be going then, bye." And turned around to go.
"Hey! Stop!" He ordered.
She stopped. Is he going to ask me again?
"I'm coming too!" He continued and came beside her.
No he's not.
"But you have to go straight and I have to turn." She remarked.
"So what? There is no way I'm going to let you go alone in this dark, wearing a skirt. And who told you, you can wear a skirt?"he scolded her.
"But I always wear a skirt to school." She told.
"School is a different place and public places are a different place. And don't be smart, I'm not going to loose this time. Don't you dare to wear a skirt again. If possible than wear pants to school." He ordered her like he was his gaurdian.
"Why? What are you going to do if I don't?" She asked.
He moved towards her and she moved back till there was no place to go but a wall. Her eyes widening.
"Do you want to know what I will do?" He asked and smirked at her.
She immediately moved aside.
"Why? Where are going?"he asked.
"Don't you wanna know what I'll do?"
