when i wasn't even there for myself
you were always there
standing, fighting, believing
but like a battery giving off power for so long
you got tired
i have consumed all your energy
and you became so empty
so empty that you couldn't even talk to me
i wish i had the power to recharge you
to give your strength back and restore you
but i hadn't
because the power that once made my bulbs glow so bright
was coming from my battery
and you were my battery
now we're both empty
