Chapter 1

"Lina hurry up. we still have to go get Ben." Lina's mom says from out side the bathroom door at taco bell.
"god she is so fucking annoying" Lina tells me while I'm washing my hands.
"but she is still your mom. You should have a little bit more respect for her."
I continue on to the conversation. But who was I kidding Lina doesn't have
respect for anyone.
"she is not my mom. She lost that
honor before I was born." Lina says aggravated. Lina's mom was on drugs for years. She even lost custody of Lina and her brothers. We soon left taco bell and started to drive to wherever Ben lived. Ben and lane are best friends. Neither Lina nor I have ever met him. But Lina's mom has some free movie tickets so she told
Lina and lane to invite friends. Lina of course invited me. And lane invited Ben.
"lane was telling me about Ben earlier. He said he is a total stoner. But the cool kind. You know like lane." Lina proceeded to tell me.
"Yeah he sounds pretty cool." I answered in the same whisper that Lina spoke in cause she doesn't want her mom to hear. Just then we pulled up to bens house. Lane jumps out of the front seat to go get him. Me and Lina jump in the far back. Lane and Ben get in the car and we leave. its dark so I can't see ben very good. Lina's mom immediately starts the conversation.
" hi Ben how are you?"
"pretty good."
" that's good. How's your mom?"
" better."
" that's good. Is the chemo working?"
" I dont really know." Ben and Ms.Haillie continue but I stopped to think, chemo? His mom is going through chemo? Why? Does she have cancer? Is she ok? I was suddenly full of questions. But I didn't want to be rude so I kept my mouth shut. We finally got to the movies. When we got up to the doors I finally saw his face. He was tall. About 5'8, 5'9 I wasn't sure. His eyes were small but they were so beautiful. That deep blue was gorgeous. His hair was blonde and short. He was grinning and talking to lane. His voice was soft. And quiet. The next thing I noticed Were his arms. His muscles were really big. His body was fine as fuck. Oh my god he was so hot. As we went in he held the door for all of us. Ms. Jade who was friends with Ms. Haillie. Then ms. Haillie went in next. Then lane and Lina. And finally I walked in and ben followed. I,was the only one who said thank you to him for holding the door.
"girls what do u want?"Ms.Haillie asked us. Lina and I looked at each other and at the same time said
"Dr. Pepper and twizzlers". We got our drinks and twizzlers and went to get a seat. In one row was the adults. The next row was the boys and finally Me and lina, we both used a twizzler as a
straw. It was just an old thing we did together.The whole time the boys in front of us were joking and being loud. At one time they even talked to us. The adults were watching the movie and lina kept telling the boys to shut up but me, I was hypnotized. All I was doing was looking at ben.I couldn't get over how good looking he was
"Ellie come on!" Lina says to me
standing up.
"Where are u going?" I ask
"Bathroom. U coming?" She asks. But I didn't want to go all I wanted to do was look at Ben.
"No I dont have to go. You just go I'll stay here so I can tell you what you missed."
I lied. I have to pee and I wasn't
watching the movie.
"Fine I'll be back" she leaves. Right away the boys get up and walk out. they pass Lina fast. I stand up.
"Wait Lina I lied I have to pee."
I say as I catch up to her.
