The rain hadn't let up in the slightest, and Jungwoo's phone refused to turn on, Taeyong commenting that it might have gotten too wet, and that soaking it in a bag of rice when he got home would be a good idea.

So, they were both promptly stuck in the cafe, brewing coffee as Taeyong wrote down everything he used, knowing full well it would come straight out of his paycheck.

"So... what do you do for a living?" Taeyong asks, trying not to sound awkward despite the very palatable awkwardness that laid stiffly between the two much like a dead man might.

"I'm a daycare worker, mostly with three to five year olds." Jungwoo replied softly, taking another sip of the coffee which he thought to be bitter, but enjoyed nonetheless.

"That's actually pretty cool." Taeyong said, not very surprised that someone like Jungwoo would work with kids. Especially for a literal career.

"So, do you do anything besides make coffee and misspell names on cups?" Jungwoo asks innocently, thought Taeyong can tell that Jungwoo is not subtlety trying to be sarcastic and savage.

"Um, I write sometimes. My brother and I compose music that we perform on the weekends, and occasionally I like to write names properly. Though, I should mention that it isn't my favorite hobby." Taeyong say, watching as Jungwoo nods, smiling a little. "What about you?"

Jungwoo pauses for a moment, as if to think about what to say. "I mostly just go to work, stop by for coffee go home and read and then get into bed. Both of my besties have boyfriends, and I'm living like a grandpa all alone in my apartment." Jungwoo admits, feeling a little pitiful for the lack of substance in his life.

"I feel ya'. Oh, I need to do the dishes before I forget again." Taeyong said, excusing himself from the table once he realized that he had left all the pastry batter covered pans on the counter and that the cooking staff would have his head if they weren't cleaned in the morning.

So he rushed back into the kitchen, immediately running hot tap water as he tried to scrape as much of it off as he could while it was still drying, dumping in at least a bottle of soap before mindlessly throwing dishes in much like he did at home.

Sometime half way through the dishes, Jungwoo had joined him, saying something about dropping things and that he didn't need his favorite barista accidentally injuring himself doing something as mundane as the dishes.

So, there they stood, side by side, washing dishes as the rain pelted on the windows and the rooftop creating a comfortable ambience as the scent of coffee swirled around them and they occasionally splashed bubbles at each other.

They finished soon after, both sitting at the main island counter with their coffee cups in their hands, freshly refilled and happily basking it it's warmth as they talked about the small things in life.

Jungwoo couldn't help but smile as Taeyong went off on a rant about this one movie called The Witness, it was a chinese film that Taeyong had been showed by a friend of his, and he raved about it.

And just as Taeyong was ranting more about Luhan's superb acting, Jungwoo noticed something under the fridge. "I'm trying to be serious, I swear... but is that a cookie under the fridge?" Jungwoo looked closer, eyebrows furrowed together as Taeyong laughed.

"Oh my God, I thought I saw a cookie under there earlier!" By now he was in full giggling mode as retrieved the cookie, simply shaking his head as he tossed it into the wastebin.

"What a waste of a perfectly good white chocolate macadamia nut cookie."

And that's when they both lost it.

I don't know if the domestic-ness of the dish washing is considered fluff, but it seemed fluffy and cute to me.
