We decided to head back to our house after hanging out on the beach for about three hours. Emily ran to the car laughing as CC chased her yelling, "FREE HUGS!!"
It was the first time that Emily was able to come back to our house with us, and she was excited.
"So what's it like to be a rock star?" I almost laughed as Emily asked this.
"It's hard sometimes. With the fans and that. But overall it's pretty nice," I explained. She smiled as she stared out her window. Just then, Carolyn started to play on the radio. She looked at me with a pleading look.
"I love this song," she said. "It helped me through a very difficult time in my life." She started to look upset then turned away from me.
"Do you want to talk about it?" I asked her. She shook her head and I understood. "Maybe another time when you feel more comfortable." She smiled at me then giggled.
"If you lucky," she teased. I quirked the side of my mouth up into a devilish smile.
"I sure feel lucky," I joked. She laughed.
-two hours later-
That night, Emily had decided to spend the night. We all made sure that CC wore pajamas to bed so as to not blind or scar Emily for life.
By midnight, Emily and I were the only ones awake. We sat on the couch watching tv and eating popcorn.
"So what happened with you and Sammi?" Emily asked. I frowned and turned away.
"She made me choose between her and my best friends," I whispered. "I chose the guys over her."
"I'm so sorry Jinxxy," she comforted while pulling me into a hug. I looked at her confused.
"Since when is my name Jinxxy?" I asked her. She laughed and blushed.
"It's a nickname," she giggled. "You're my Jinxxy." I laughed before wrapping my arm around her shoulder. She moved closer and cuddled my chest.
"I feel safe with you for some reason," she whispered. "Can I stay with you guys?" I looked down at her and smiled.
"Of course you can," I told her. She rested her head on my chest and I felt her smile.
"Thank you," she yawned before falling asleep on my chest.
