Close as Strangers

Chapter 15

"Izzy stop!" I heard Will chasing after me, panic in his voice. I turned around and faced him to see that he calmed down.

"Will. I'm tired of following, I'm taking charge and I'm not letting myself continue being a follower.

"Izzy, I don't expect you to follow me everywhere, I just thought it would be an opportunity to go somewhere new."

"But you talk so much about the future and plans for it and I'm not a person that likes talking about the future, I live in the moment."

"Then we'll live in the moment. Izzy I don't care as long as I'm with you." I sighed, looking down at my hands. Will pulled my head up with his finger, forcing me to look at him. He smiled and kissed me on the top of the head, and I felt myself fold into his warm body.

I don't know what to do with myself now. I felt like I was finally starting to feel batter and now I find that Izzy's planning to stay with this guy. I realize that it's finally time for me to move on. I heard a knock on my door, and I rolled over.

"What?"

"Luke?" The voice I heard was none other then my mother's.

"Mom?" I rolled back over and saw that she was standing there right in front of me.

"Your friends called. They're all worried about you."

"I'm fine mom, honestly."

"No you're not. Don't try to lie to me."

"I told you, I'm fine. I'm just enjoying my time on tour."

"You must be the only person I know to enjoy tour with your best friends by staying in your hotel room all the time." I just glanced over at her, I hated that she knew me so well.

"I'm over it. I'm moving on."

"I sure hope you are."

"I'm fine." She had a look of concern so I decided it be better that I cut her off so she couldn't continue on. "How long are you staying?"

"Two days, I have to go back home." I sat up and hugged her.

"Michael." I whined, trying to get him to stop playing video games.

"What?"

"Come here." He paused the game and came over, pulling me close to him and we sat there in silence. He was my everything, I can't imagine life without him. I leaned up and kissed him, he kissed me back and held me close to him.

"I love you." I pulled away from him and looked at his perfect features.

"I love you too." He smiled at me and we hugged, cuddling close together. We sat like that for a bit then decided to go play some shooting video game together. Calum came in with Maria, the two were smitten for each other and it was so obvious.

"Hey do you guys want to play? Caitlin and I versus you and Maria."

"I'm down." They sat next together and Michael and I with each other.

"Are you serious?" Michael and I had beat Maria and Calum easily, making them freak out, Michael was a sniper I think is what it's called and I just ran around after Maria. We had a game plan making it easy to take them down.

Later that night, I started to realize I was homesick, I missed the beautiful Australian sun and warmth. I held myself closer to Michael and I shivered in the Colorado snow as we walked down the street to get some dinner for everyone. I shivered again, the cold air whipping against my face bringing a stinging sensation.

"Come here." Michael pulled me so our sides were touching and he rubbed his hand up and down my left arm. We found a Chinese place and stopped outside of it, Mike opening the door for me.

"How may I help you?" The small server asked us and we looked at up at the menu, our orders in mind, just checking that they had it.

"2 Sweet and sour chicken with white rice, um, pork fried rice, 2 General Tso Chickens and 8 egg rolls." mike ordered all the food and we took a seat along a wall waiting for the food to be done cooking. I leaned against his shoulder, his head resting on top of mine.

"I love you." I could practically hear him smile.

"I love you too." He leaned down and kissed me. We pated for the food once being told it was all ready and we headed back down the street to the hotel we were all staying at.

Once we got in, Ashton, Calum and Maria swarmed to the food. Luke slowly made his way to get the food after everyone else. Mike and I sat with our Sweet and Sour chicken eating and chatting with everyone else. Everyone finished and went back to their rooms, leaving Mike and I to eat our remaining egg rolls.

"Caitlin."

"Yeah?"

"Marry me." I almost choked on my egg roll, completely surprised.

"What?" I turned to face him.

"Marry me." I looked up at him, a smile on his face as he glanced down at me.

"Are you teasing me?"

"No. Caitlin, you're my family. I can't picture life without you."

"But Michael, we're only 19."

"It doesn't have to be now, I just want to marry you at some point in my life."

"I want to marry you too." I smiled at him, he leaned down and kissed me and I hugged him, feeling so lucky to be unofficially engaged to this man that I love so much.
