As she got on the stairs leading to the front door of the church, the double mahogany doors were opened and the music changed to "Komasi" by Lara George. It was one of her favourite songs and the most fitting for the moment. Her original plan was to use Celine Dion's "Because you loved me," but now she is getting married against her wish, she needed strength to go through the wedding.
Funmi held tightly to the bouquet of green and cream Roses and walked with her father arm in arm to the altar. By this time, she was so overwhelmed by the song especially the part that spoke about not being afraid because God alone is her God forever. She suddenly stopped on the way and took a deep breath. The church went quiet.
"Funmi," her father called her softly.
"I'm okay. I really am." She replied and continued her walk to the altar.
She was given a round of applause as she passed by her relatives and well-wishers.
She got to the altar and her father stood right by her side and would remain there until the Pastor would ask who was giving her away.
Antonio nearly celebrated when he saw her stop in her tracks but he rejoiced too son because she continued her determined walk to destroying his happiness.
The rest of the ceremony went off without another hiccup and Funmi was handed over to Antonio by her father. They said the traditional vows of "till death do us part" to each other and were officially declared husband and wife after the rings were exchanged.
"You may now kiss you bride." Pastor Azikwe said with a bright smile.
Funmi mentally hit her head. How did she forget to inform Pastor to skip that part? What would happen now? She can't allow this arrogant, egocentric and mad man kiss her? The mouth he has used to kiss probably countless women including the love of his life Sharon.
To her amazement, Antonio lifted her veil without hesitation and looked at the beautiful woman before him. She was not Sharon but he was definitely not going to allow himself to miss the opportunity to give her first ever kiss.
He smiled to himself as he saw the terrified look on her face.
"I won't bite Saint Funmi." He said with a deadly smile on his face and before she knew it, Antonio Babalola has stolen her first kiss.

The reception was held at Riviera Garden, an upscale hotspot for hosting events such as birthdays, weddings and any other function or social events. The newly wedded couple and their families with their well-wishers were hosted under a massive white tent. The décor of green and brown theme was impeccable.
Funmi tried her level best to contain herself after the kiss. The evil brat stole her first kiss that was meant for a man who truly deserved her! She seethed inside as he became even more affectionate afterwards. She could barely eat anything as guests come and go to wish them well, pray for them and gush over just how good they looked together. Just when it seemed her fake smile would give up and turn into a scowl, the MC announces that the bride and groom should come to the dance floor.
"Mrs. Babalola, let us hit the dance floor." Antonio said halfheartedly.
Funmi didn't argue and stood up. The guests applauded joyfully as "African Queen" by 2face Idibia began to play. Antonio held Funmi in his arms and commanded her to go along with the flow. She obeyed like a good wife and began to dance with him. At one point he turned her around and gently led her back to his arms like a good husband should.
