YOU HAD BEEN WORKING FOR
SHIELD FOR A QUITE SOME TIME NOW.And when they assigned you to work with the Avengers, you never expected to even get along with them— let alone become good friends.
You'd gotten particularly close with Steve Rogers. And when civil war came around, trouble was your middle name, considering going against the government was your first move; siding with Cap was the obvious choice. But it did not surprise you when you were shipped off to an isolated location to do 'research'. Back at home, the team was told a lie to protect you and ensure ultimate safety.
This lie being, you were dead. They were devastated, even had a funeral for you.
Everyone mourned for a good year or so, until you came back. And when you saw Steve through the glass window, paying close attention up ahead to the person speaking, you couldn't help but smile. He hadn't changed one bit.You hesitantly walked into the room, Steve turning at the creaking of the door. He then realized who had caught his attention and quickly got up out of his chair, running over and instinctively picking you up in an embrace. Your laugh rang in his ears.
"I missed that laugh." He whispered into your shoulder.
You shut your eyes tight, taking in all you could at one time. The two of you just hugged for the longest time, missing the feeling of being in each other's arms. "I missed you so much, Rogers."
