"PSST."
You whispered to the boy behind you, desperately hoping to catch his attention. He glanced up at you from his notebook where he was diligently scribbling down notes, then scrunched his eyebrows. The boy looked behind him, thinking you were obviously addressing someone else.
"M-me?"
You sighed. "Yes, you!"
You glanced forward to make sure the teacher was looking elsewhere. "You're good at this, this science stuff, right?"
He smiled, finding your phrasing cute.
"Yeah, I am.""Could you help me? Please?" You begged.
"Like, now?"
"Like, after school?" You mocked him, rolling your eyes playfully.
"Oh." He glanced back down at his notebook full of Spider-man doodles.
"You don't have to if—"
"No!" He yelled, loudly, attracting the attention of his fellow classmates. He smiled sheepishly under your teachers glare and slumped down in his chair to try and hide himself. "I mean, yeah, of course." He said much quieter.
A grin couldn't help but appear on your face. "Thank you so much! I owe you big time." You winked.
When you turned around, Peter couldn't help but smile. Because you had noticed him, and now you had the potential to actually become friends. "Just wait till Ned hears about this." He whispered to himself.
You turned around. "Huh?"
"Nothing!"
