Part 4: Dream Come True

The rest of the week at school was the same as the first day. I went to my classes, spoke to my friends, and James walked with me around the school to make sure Brian didn't try anything. When we walked past Brian, James would stand closer to me which made my whole body feel stiff. Friday at lunch Jake, Michelle, Nick, and I got invited to Brian sister Sarah's birthday party this Saturday. We were all quite shocked but then I realized that she probably only invited all of us because I wouldn't go unless they went and Brian liked me. After a while of discussing this Jake said that he could drive us and that Brian wasn't going to do anything to me as long as I wasn't alone with him.

When school ended I went home and started to get ready. The party was going to be at 7:00pm and I had about three hours to get ready. I went through my clothes and chose my favorite two outfits. One was a cute skirt with a pretty blue floral shirt. The other was a pair of skinny jeans and a pink floral shirt. I decided to go with the skinny jeans because it was going to be chilly outside. When I finished getting dressed Olivia came upstairs and helped me with my hair and makeup. My hair was curled and some up and some down. The elastic we used for my hair was a pink flower to match with the shirt. After a few minutes I got a text from Jake.

Jake:Hey Lotty

Me: Hey

Jake: Are you excited for the party?

Me: A little bit I don't usually go to parties.

Jake: Me either I wouldn't have even thought about going unless you were.

Me: Really? Well thanks.

Jake: Do you need a ride?

Me: I was going to walk, but a ride would be nice.

Jake: Okay what's your address?

Me: 32 Welson Avenue

Jake: Okay I'll pick you up soon.

Me: Okay see you soon

About ten minutes past when Jake showed up. I went downstairs but I saw that Olivia had already answered the door and Jake was introducing himself to her as my best friend. "Lotty your friend Jake is here" she screamed not realizing I was right behind her. "I know Olivia I'm right here" She jumped when I said this "Oh well have fun you two" She gave me a look as of saying: Ooooo Jake, Go For It. I rolled my eyes and then turned to look at Jake. "Hey Lotty you ready?" he said this with a bright smile on his face. "Ya let's go." We exited the house and walked over to his car. It was a maroon color and it looked like a sports car. When he saw my eyes light up and get wider he laughed "It was a hand me down from my dad." I looked at him then back at the car "It's a very nice car."

When we got into the car I sat in the passenger seat and buckled up. Jake started the car and then Michelle and Nick jumped up screaming "BOO!" I jumped and screamed a little but when I noticed it was them I calmed down. Everybody started laughing at my reaction. "Nice to see you Lotty. Still easily scared I see." Nick said this laughing. I couldn't help but laugh. After a few minutes of laughing Jake began driving. I decided to put on the radio and when we heard the song we began singing instantly. It was Thousand Miles.

It took us about 15 minutes to get to the house. When we parked and got out of the car I saw that the house wasn't a house. It was a mansion. A big bright white mansion with a big blue pool and a bunch of people dancing on a dance floor that was outside. There were hundreds of colorful lights flashing and it was extremely loud. When Jake saw that I was nervous and hesitant to walk toward the house so he bent over and looked at me."It's okay. You'll be fine. I'm here for you." I smiled and nodded then he put his hand out as of asking for me to grab it. I looked at him then I grabbed his hand and we began to walk. Michelle and Nick had already ran into the mansion. The second Jake and I walked into the mansion everybody was staring at us like we were outsiders. That's when Brian walked over to me. "Hey Pretty" he smirked and then he saw me holding Jakes hand. "So you and Jake are a thing now?" Jake and I quickly answered "No we are just friends." Brian looked at us and laughed then walked away. Jake and I looked at each other then we decided to go to the dance area.
