By the time I get into the school everyone had managed to spread out. I was lost. How had I managed to get lost? I must've been thinking again. I slowly walked around looking for anyone that could help me find my way to the office. I needed to get my class schedule. As I walked around the school searching for the office, I realized that this school is much bigger than I thought. I kept looking at every detail of the building. Then I saw a few people. I tried to get their attention but they didn't notice me. I don't blame them I am pretty short. Most 17 year olds are 5.6ft tall but I'm 5.1ft tall, or should I say short. I kept walking and I finally found the office. When i entered I noticed that there was a kid with blonde hair and big brown eyes sitting on a bench. He didn't look too happy and when he saw me look at him he grunged his nose as to try to tell me to back off. I jumped slightly and he smirked. Just great. I'm already proving to the school that I'm a weakling. I walked up to this woman who I assumed was the secretary. Luckily I was correct. She told me to wait a moment while the principle was talking to another student. I looked back and noticed there was only one bench so I decided to just stand. After a few minutes she had printed out my schedule but she said that the principle liked to meet all the new students so I had to wait.
Another few minutes went by and then a tall brown haired green eyed guy walked out of the office. He seemed like the type of guy that you would see volunteering at a soup kitchen or helping students who didn't understand the material. The principle followed him. The principle was wearing a black suit with a blue tie and he held his hand out. "Hello young lady. I am Mr.Keen. You must be Lotty Higson." At the sound of my name the blonde boy laughed but the brown haired boy just looked at him in disgust. I shook Mr.Keen's hand "Yes sir. Pleasure to meet you sir." The principle then started to describe the school and the teachers saying how much fun I was going to have. All principles did this whether they believed it or not. It was their job to make students feel welcomed and safe. As he spoke I began to look around. Then right before the brown haired boy left the principle called out "Jake, would you please bring Ms.Higson to her first class?" The boy agreed to this.
As I began to follow him he looked down at me with a friendly smile. "Hello, I'm Jake. Welcome to the school. I'm not gonna say this place is the best because that would be a lie, but it isn't that bad once you get used to it." I looked up at him and smiled slightly nervous about the whole not fitting in thing. "Hi. I'm Lot.." I stuttered and I felt like the world was about to collapse on me but managed to say it "I'm Lotty" He smiled brightly "Well it's a pleasure to meet you Lotty. You don't seem like most girls in this school. The other girls here are...well... They are sorta... Sluts. And the few girls who aren't, are pretty cool people." My eyes lit up "There are girls like me here?" He laughed slightly and looked down at me again."Of course there are. They just are shy and you have to give them a chance."
I smiled and continued to walk with him. Then he looked at me with his big eyes. "So Lotty, what is your first class?" I handed him the schedule because I had no clue how to read it. "Oh cool you have chemistry with me. We should probably get there before Mr.Plue gets mad." He began to run slowly and I followed sorta nervous that a teacher would yell at us. When we got to the classroom the teacher introduced me to the class and then told me to pick a seat. Jake waved at me and patted the seat next to him, so I walked over and sat next to him. His face lit up when he realized that I had accepted the invitation. The teacher began to speak but Jake tapped my shoulder. He whispered "So does this make us friends?" That question got my head racing with thought.
After a few moments I answered. "If you want, I mean I'm not very popular here and I'm different." He smiled brightly "That's why I like you. You aren't like other girls and you seem pretty cool." Wow! Did he just say I seemed cool? "Thanks!" I didn't realize it but I was apparently being louder than I meant to be because Jake had put his hand over my mouth gently and told me to be a little more quiet. We started to discuss our hobbies and likes. We were almost the same person. Throughout the day he helped me get around the school and he introduced me to two of his friends. One was a brown haired girl with calming brown eyes, her name was Michelle. The other was a nerdy blonde haired boy named Nick. They were really friendly. I had gotten all of their numbers and we kept talking about how we should hang out together.
