We began walking and as we got further and further away from the school my heart was racing. No my heart was pounding. After walking about a mile he picked me up and began running with vampire speed. I held onto him tightly, my arms around his neck. He smirked slightly and I rolled my eyes. He kept running and every once in a while looked down at me.
When he stopped we were on the top of this huge mountain just outside of town. There we stood admiring the beautiful view. You could see everything, the buildings, the cars, the people, everything. As I looked out I said "This place is amazing." He nodded in agreement then looked at me "But it isn't as amazing and beautiful as you Lotty." I looked at him blushing slightly and then I looked away. You have a boyfriend,Lotty, remember that.
I sat down with my legs over the edge. The mountain was at least 300ft above the ground. Michael sat next to me and smiled "Yano, you aren't like the other girls." I looked at him "Is that a bad thing?" He laughed slightly "Of course not. You are the most amazing person I've met." I smiled and we both began to lean closer and closer to each other. Right before our lips touched I got a text. I backed up and got up. I looked down at my phone. It was Jake. I told Michael I had to text him and I sat on a rock.
Jake: Hey Lotty where are you? Are you okay?!
Me: Hey I decided to skip sorry I didn't tell anyone. And ya why?
Jake: I thought you and James broke up and you were at home crying and not coming to school......
Me: What?! Why would you think that?!
Jake: He is hanging with the cheerleaders....
Me: Oh.... I'm sure he is just trying to be friendly
Jake: If friendly looks like making out with Dana then he is being friendly.....
Me: He is making out with Dana?! Are you sure?
Jake: Ya tongue and everything
Me: Oh..... I gtg bye
Jake: I'm Sorry Lotty
The second Jake told me James was making out with Dana the head cheerleader tears began to form. Was he really cheating on me? Was Jake just messing with me? Why would he cheat on me? I couldn't stop thinking. That's when all I could feel was pain. I didn't want Michael to know so I acted like nothing happened and then I went home.
When I got home I ran upstairs not even saying a word and I fell onto my floor. I couldn't hold the tears back. I burst out crying. My heart felt like it had exploded. That's when there was a knock on the door. "Go Away!" I didn't move from my spot but the door opened. I looked up and it was Jake. He looked at me and opened his arms wide. I got up and hugged him crying into his chest. He gently ran his fingers threw my hair. "Lotty it's going to be alright you didn't need him anyway. It's his loss. You are beautiful and amazing and he didn't deserve you." I didn't say anything I just fell onto my bed and Jake laid next to me. He comforted me the whole night and kept complimenting me and saying how it was his loss. But was it? I am not that great looking. I'm different. I started crying even worse and ended up falling asleep in a puddle of my own tears.
When I woke up Jake was still there holding me close. I looked up at him. Yesterday wasn't just a bad dream. It really happened. Now today I had to go to school and face the man who hurt me. I sat there in pain and tears streaming down my face again when Jake woke up. He looked at me and kissed my forehead. "You don't have to go to school if you don't wanna." I looked up at him "I am going to school. I'm gonna show him he can't break and ruin me." Jake smiled "Good that's the spirit. Now get ready." I smiled and began getting ready. When I was finished we began walking to school. I stopped a few times to turn back and stay home but Jake wouldn't let me. He told me I needed to do this. He was 100% right. I needed to do this. I needed to face James and let him know that he meant nothing to me. Let him know that he couldn't hurt me. Let him know that I was fine without him. That's when I saw the school and froze. Tears formed in my eyes and then Jake wiped them away. "Lotty you are strong and I'm not gonna leave your side all day. I'm here for you." I looked at him and hugged him "Thanks." He smiled and then grabbed my hand and we began walking toward the school.
