Chapter 7
"Jess, you're holding the surfboard incorrectly, hold it like this" Jake told me, showing me how he holds his. Gosh I was tired. I yawned. It was 6:20 am, id just gotten up, and Jake had come to pick me up. We had arrived in the beach, and I was helping him with my surfboard.
"Jess?" he said. I snapped out of my trance.
"Oh, sorry, I was thinking" I said.
"About me?" he said, grinning.
"Haha you wish" I told him.
"Okay, first, lay the surfboard on the sand, and lay in it, you need to practice how to row" jack said, helping me. He wasn't a great teacher, but I hopefully I got him.
"Okay, let's go to the water now, I'll be coming with you" Jake says, helping me up. He takes the surfboard to the water, and tells me to lay in it. I start rowing, and Jake swims besides me.
"Jess, okay, turn around, I'm going to help you catch that wave. When you do, slowly stand up and put your feet in the middle of your board and balance yourself with your arms, okay?" Jake tells me.
"Okay" I say, unsure. He helps me catch the wave, pushing me when it comes; I row, and slowly start to stand up.
"I did it! Jake! Look at me! I'm doing it!" I shout, excited, and start moving my arms, causing me to fall. I fall to the sea with a splash, and hear Jake coming for me.
"That was great, jess, are you sure it's your first time doing this?" Jake asks me, helping me up to the board again.
"Yeah" I reply. I surf a bunch of more waves, when the tide starts to rise.
"We got to get going, jess, c'mon" he said, getting me out of the ocean.
"Wanna eat something? I bought some snacks" Jake said, pulling me and sitting me in the sand. He goes for the car, and comes back 2 minutes later, with a picnic basket.
"What do you want to have?" Jake asks me.
"Peanut butter and jelly is okay" I said, as Jake hands me a sandwich. He gets a chicken sandwich, and we start to eat.
"So, how'd you like surfing?" he asks me.
"It was great, really, we should do it again" I said.
"Yeah, and you're a natural, really" he said, grinning. He is so cute. He helps me up, and takes me to the car. I yawned. He lifts me up, and I drift off to sleep in his warm, protective arms.
As I wake up, I realize I'm not in my room. Then, everything comes back to me. This is probably jakes room, I look around, and find Jake has put me in his bed, and he climbed in with me. He looks so innocent when he is sleeping. I start to go to the bathroom, but then I hear his voice, "so you're up".
I snort "duh". He laughs. He looks at his watch.
"Its 10 already" he tells me.
"Oh, is it okay if I take a shower?" I ask him.
"Sure" he said, as he hands me my backpack with my clothes. I go in his bathroom, and take a long and relaxing shower. I put on my clothes, and step out of the bathroom. And there is Jake, in the middle of his room with no t-shirt and only his boxers. I feel my face starting to heat up, he hasn't realized I'm there yet. I fake a cough, and sit in his bed.
"You should use the bathroom" I tell him. He laughs and goes to the bathroom.
What a day. I wait for him to come out, and we go to the kitchen to grab some breakfast, as we eat, I notice him staring at me, with his beautiful and dazzling eyes. After a while, we clean our plates and decide to go to the boardwalk.
