In some abandoned town in the middle of a forest, a boy sleeps against a tree. In front of this boy was carnage. Exploded trucks, a dead body on the floor. Next to that was a house that was painted with blood. The kid himself has bullets throughout his entire body, and his amateur bandaging doesn't help. His eyes slowly open, looking at the carnage. He sighs lightly and slowly stands up. Once he's back on both of his feet, he starts to slowly walk around. He walks past the carnage and starts admire the old town. Each building looked old and decrepit. Each building was slowly devoured by overgrowth. He wanders past the buildings and finds himself in a large forest. With nowhere else to go, he keeps walking. The boy knows where he has to go, but he's satisfied with everything around him so he takes a minute to admire his surroundings.
A house in the middle of a forest, there lives five girls. They've all gone through some shit, and one of them especially is having a hard time accepting it. Her name is Alice. She spent quite a long time with a boy. She knows him better than anybody else in this house. The boy's name was Mike. He was a tall skinny guy, with black hair, and brown eyes. At the surface he looks like a normal kid, but if you dig as deep as Alice has, then you know he's been through some shit. The abusive past, and his blood present has brought him to where he is now, a peaceful future. Alice can't stop trying to convince herself that he chose his fate, and that she couldn't do anything about it. But deep down, she knew that if she stayed by his side he would've been fine. He would've been able to fight them off and survive. Alice stopped caring about the people around her, and focused on thinking.
Mike admired the colorful trees of autumn. Leaves crunched under his feet as he walked around the forest. The air smelled fresh. He looks up at the sky and smiles at the colors of a setting sun. That's when he felt it. A single drop of snow that landed on his nose. Mike smiles brighter as more snow falls from the sky. He looks down and walks further into the forest. But, the forest didn't last much longer. After a minute, Mike walks towards a clearing in the forest. Once he passes that clearing, he finds a beautiful sight. It was a city, with heavy snow slowly falling from the sky. The cold starts to bite Mike, so he heads towards the nearest clothing store.
"Hey Alice, are you alright?" Jess says to her gun. "Yeah." The voice says in Jess's head. "Ok I was just making sure that you're alright." Jess says setting the gun down. "How do you do it?" Alice asks after a minute. "Do what?" Jess asks. "Move on? Forget someone ever existed?" Alice asks. "Well, you don't." Jess says after a minute, "You don't forget about anyone. Because if you did, you would forget about all of the great memories you made with them. But, it's much harder to move on." Jess says scratching her chin. "It takes time, and energy to move past someone important to you. You just have to accept their fate, and know it was the best for both of you." Jess says smiling lightly. "...Oh, okay. Thanks for talking to me." Alice says. "Anytime." Jess says
Mike wanders the streets to of a city somewhere in Montana. People looked at Mike weirdly, but he didn't notice, he just wanted to find a place to buy clothes. Mike looks at the buildings around him, and finds a small shop that hopefully sells clothes. Mike walks in and looks around. "Hello." A woman at the cash register says as Mike looks around. He walks to a small pile of white shirts and picks one up. He then wanders over to the pants area, and finds some jeans. He then wanders over to the jackets hung up on the wall. He scans them, and finds a black and white flannel. Mike then walks up to the register, and sets the clothes down. The lady doesn't question him, and starts scanning the clothes. Mike reaches into his back pocket, and pulls up a wad of cash. The lady asks Mike for the money and he hands it over. After a few seconds, the lady puts the money into the register, and gives Mike a penny. "Here's your change, sir." Mike smiles, looks at the small tips jar, and throws the penny in. He walks to the changing rooms. He gets one, and walks in. He shuts the door, and changes into his new clothes. With no more money in his pockets Mike walks back into the cold night.
As the nights go by, Alice doesn't stop thinking about Mike. She knows for a fact that he's dead, but she can't just accept it. She's been through four of the five stages of grief. Denial, anger, bargaining, depression, she's felt it all. At first she thought Mike wasn't dead, so she blocked out everyone that says otherwise. Then there was anger, where she kept blaming Mike for his own death and she hated him for it. Then there was bargaining, where she pled with whatever higher power she could just to see him again. Depression is when she went into hiding, and stopped talking to people. She would cry and ask for death, so she could see him again, but she was immortal so there was nothing she could do about it. One day, after a long silence, she asked Jess something, "How do you do it?" After that conversation with Jess, Alice felt better. She was still trying to accept Mike's fate, but after a few more days of thinking, she accepted it. She accepted Mike's death, and the world around her. She found peace. Stage five Acceptance.
Mike walks down the highway just outside of the city. As people drove past Mike, he threw his thumb up and tried to catch a ride, but no one stopped, so Mike kept walking. But once a trucker saw Mike's thumb he stopped and honked at Mike. Mike turns around, surprised, and ran towards it. He hears the window roll down, and watches as a mans face pops out. "Hey kid, where you going?" The trucker asks. "Washington." Mike replies. "Well I'm going there too, so if you need a ride hop in." The trucker says. Mike nods and hops in. Mike's aware of the danger he put himself in, but he didn't care he just wanted to go home. "What's your name?" The trucker asks as he presses his foot down on the pedal. "Mike. What's yours?" Mike asks. "The names Clint." Clint says. They drive silently for a minute, until Clint says, "I'm gonna turn on some music, if that's alright with you." Mike looks out the window and says, "Sure." Clint smiles and pulls a CD out of a small compartment, and slides it into the radio, then he clicks play. Some music starts playing and the two drive in silence.
After an hour of driving down an empty road, Clint turns down the music saying, "Well, since we're gonna be spending some time together, tell me a bit about yourself stranger." Mike looks at Clint and says, "Umm, I guess I should start off with truth. I'm a terrible human being, that's done some serious shit." Clint chuckles at Mike and says, "Well, that's one way to introduce yourself. But now I'm curious. What makes you a terrible person?" Mike sighs lightly and says, "It's a long story. In fact it's my life story." Clint smiles and says, "Would you mind telling me this story?" Mike sighs and says, "Sure, I'll tell you my story. But know this, everything I say is not fake. It all happened. So if you won't believe me, then I won't tell you the story." Clint's smile leaves his face and he says, "Alright kid, I'll believe you." Mike watches as Clint reaches in his cup holder and pulls out a pack of cigarettes. Clint lights one up as Mike starts his story.
"Jesus Christ." Clint says finishing a second cigarette, "Are you alright kid?" Mike chuckles and says, "Nope." Clint smiles and pulls out another cigarette. "So, what now?" Clint asks. "I don't know. Maybe I'll travel across the world. I could stay home and live a semi normal life. Or, I could become a hired gun. I honestly don't know." Mike replies. "Okay." Clint says, "Let me spread some life advice to you, my friend. Live the rest of your life with the people you care about. Don't waste it killing people." Mike stares out the window and says, "Okay boss." Clint chuckles and pulls out another cigarette, "You want one, kid." Mike looks at the cigarette and says, "Fuck it." He takes the cigarette, and Clint hands him a lighter.

10 Hours Later

"Hey kid. Wake up." Mike hears as his eyes open. "We made it to Washington." Mike looks outside and says, "Great." Clint smiles and says, "Where do you want me to drop you off, kid?" Mike looks at Clint and says, "Drop me off up here." Clint drove a little further, and pulled the car over. "Here we are." Clint says. "Thanks." Mike says. "It was nice to meet you, Mike." Clint says holding out his hand. Mike takes Clint's hand and says, "You too." Clint smiles as they let go, "Take care of those girls." Mike chuckles and says, "I will." Mike hops out of the truck, but is stopped by Clint when he says, "Hey Mike." Mike turns back and says, "Yeah?" Clint takes something out of his cup holder, and tosses it to Mike saying, "Take this to remember me by." Clint closes his truck door and drives off. Mike looks in his hand and finds a pack of cigarettes, and a lighter, "Man this guy smokes a lot." Mike chuckles and turns to the forest, pocketing his cigarettes. The forest is covered in a light snow, as Mike walks through the forest.
It gets extremely dark, and Mike takes knows he has to take shelter before he freezes to death. So, he looks around, and finds a small cave nearby. He walks to it, and uses it as a shelter for the night. The next morning Mike leaves the cave and searches for the house.
After an hour of walking, Mike sees the house in the distance. At this point, Mike started running. He ran as fast as he could towards that house. He only slows down, she he's right next to the house. Mike's heart is pounding, and he has a stupid smile across his face. The sun slowly rises, as Mike walks up to the front door. He takes a deep breath, and knocks on the door. Mike smiles as he hears foot steps approach the door. Mike hears the door unlock, and watches it slowly open. Within seconds, Mike is staring at Clocky with a smile on his face. "Hi." Mike says waving. She doesn't respond. She's too shocked to respond. "How are you?" Mike asks. Again nothing. "...Where have you been?" Clocky asks lightly. "I was unconscious for a while." Mike says. "It's been two weeks." Clocky says still shocked. "Really? Wow, I guess those bullets did a number on me." Mike says smiling. "Clocky, who's at the door?" Slenda asks, peeking out of the kitchen. "Hi Slenda." Mike says waving. "Mike?" Slenda says. "Yep, that's me." Mike says. Slenda walks up to Mike, and slaps him. "What were you thinking?" Slenda says furiously, "Going off, and nearly getting yourself killed." Mike chuckles and says, "You can't keep me down." Slenda chuckles and embraces Mike. "It's good to see you too, Slenda." Mike says.
