Dean's POV:
Dean sighed. After Cas's outbreak last night, he had stayed the night. At first Cas had told him to go away, but Dean soon got him to at least let Dean be with him. So, they just sort of sat there, until Cas had gone to bed. Dean just fell asleep on the floor, not wanting to leave, but not wanting to disturb Cas.
The boy had been through a lot, that much was obvious. The way Uriel had hit him... It was evident that it wasn't the first time it had happened, and Dean knew that it wouldn't be the last. That didn't stop him from wanting it to stop.
He had barely known Cas for two days and already he could feel himself growing quite attached to him. He looked over at Cas's sleeping form. Already, dean knew that Cas deserved so much better. The shy boy laying next to him had already been through so much, if last night was any indication.
"Dean?" Cas's voice snapped Dean out of his thoughts. He turned, looking at Cas. He inhaled sharply. Cas's hair was messy, sticking up all over the place. He had dark bags under his eyes, which were wide as he saw that Dean was still there.
"Good morning, Cas." Dean smiled at him. Cas just cocked his head to the side, as if he didn't understand what Dean was saying.
"I thought you had gone. You probably didn't sleep well on the floor. Why didn't you wake me?" Cas asked. Dean chuckled.
"Cas you had a rough night. You needed your sleep. I'm fine. Did you sleep well?" Dean replied. Cas blushed a little bit.
"I slept better than I have in quite a bit." He admitted. "May I ask you a Question?"
"You just did," Dean chuckled. Cas blushed, looking at his shoes. "I'm kidding, Cas." Dean said, sensing his friend's discomfort. "Go right ahead."
"I guess I'm just curious as to why you stayed. Most people would have picked up and left after seeing me in such a vulnerable position. I don't understand why you didn't. " Cas paused, turning even more red than before. "I mean thank you. Really."
Dean raised his eyebrows. No one had ever been there for Cas? The very thought of Cas having to go through his entire life alone made Dean sad. "Cas, I stayed because I care about you. I wanted to make sure that you were okay. That's what friends are for." Dean shot a small smile at Cas.
"Oh." Was all Cas said. "Thank you."
"It's no problem, Cas." Dean checked his phone. "Oh jeez it's really late. I need to get home so that I can get ready for school. I'll see you in a bit?" Cas only nodded. "Okay. I'll see you then." Dean waved at Cas before swinging himself out of the small window in his room. As he walked home, he came to the conclusion that he would do whatever it took to make Cas happy.
Cas's POV:
Cas shook his head in confusion as he watched Dean walk towards his car. Dean had said some things that confused him. For one, why had he wanted to make sure Cas was okay. Why sacrifice a good nights sleep for him?
Cas smiled to himself. Dean cared. He didn't know why, but Dean did care. Cas changed his clothes, never stopping smiling. Until he got downstairs. He saw Anna sitting on the couch.
"Castiel. I apologize for the way I yelled last night. I need to tell you something, though." Cas nodded solemnly. "I don't care who you love. Uriel beats me, too. I think we sometimes forget that. I am sorry. I'll try and be a better sister, Castiel."
Castiel just sat there, stunned. Anna was apologizing? He never really saw how much of an effect that Uriel actually had on her. "Thank you, Anna." He whispered quietly.
"Cassie, when you are eighteen, I'm getting you and Gabe out of here. Uriel won't be able to hurt us then." Anna said. "Now go to school, before Uriel wakes up." Cas just nodded, giving Anna a small wave before running out the door and to school.
He started as he heard someone behind him. He turned, only to find Gabriel behind him.
"Have fun with Dean-O?" He asked. Cas rolled his eyes, nodding. "Good. I had fun with Sam as well, thanks for asking."
"Okay Gabriel. I'm going to class. See you after school." And with that he ran off, leaving Gabe behind.
Sam's POV:
After Anna's outburst, they went to Gabriels room, locking the door. Sam took that moment to just study Gabriel. His Caramel hair, and the way he always had candy with him.
"You okay there, Sammy?" Gabe asked, startling Sam. He just glared at Gabe.
"I told you. It's Sam, not Sammy." Gabe rolled his eyes.
"Okay, Samantha. Want to watch Sherlock?" Sam perked up at the mention of Sherlock. Gabe laughed. "I'll take that as a yes, then." Sam watched as Gabe set it up.
He caught himself thinking about Gabe a lot the past few days. Sam sat on the bed, to further ponder his feelings. He knew he was gay, he had known since the seventh grade. Now, being a freshmen, he still had yet to have a boyfriend, or even his first kiss.
I wouldn't mind if Gabe were my first kiss. Sam found himself thinking. No, he wouldn't mind. He didn't want to jeopardize their friendship though, so he pushed the thought aside. It was better to wait and see if Gabe felt the same way.
He jumped when he felt Gabe sit on the bed next to him. "Whoa there Moose. Its just me!" Gabe said.
"Yeah sorry. Lost in thought. Moose?" Sam questioned. Gabe laughed.
"You're tall. I think it fits." Gabe shrugged. Sam rolled his eyes. Gabe smiled, before pressing play.
It was only halfway through the first episode before Sam felt Gabe's head on his shoulder. Sam blushed, before putting his arm around Gabe. Yes, he supposed he could get used to this.
(Hey so I decided I'm probably going to update every Wednesday and then Saturdays when I can. School starts next week so I'm going to do my best but can't promise anything. Anyway thanks for reading!
