"Taeyeon?!" Multiple rings interrupt her thread of thoughts as she stares at Zero, and she stands up, walking to the door with him in her arms.

The only thing that matters in this moment is her dog, all her attention is turned to him. So even when she opens the door, she doesn't get distracted and keeps crying.

"I heard you screaming so I came to-oh my God, Taeyeon what happened?"Baekhyun's facial expression arches in worry, staring in horror at the dog in Taeyeon's hands. "What happened?"

Taeyeon lifts her gaze, meeting his eyes as she continues sobbing. "I don't know, I just arrived and I-I-I" She lets out heavy breaths, tears running down her heated cheeks.

"He's freezing." Baekhyun comments as he touches Zero's forehead, and removes his blouse, wrapping the dog in it.

"Come with me." He reaches for Taeyeon's wrist, pulling her out of her apartment and locking the door, dragging her down the building, to his car with her dog between his hands.

When they are in the car, he hands her Zero, and calls someone, to whom he says "Taeyeon's dog passed out, we're coming to you." before starting the engine and driving off.

The drive is silent, Baekhyun doesn't talk to her, and she internally thanks him for it, as she finds the time to calm down and starts hoping for the best.

Once they get there, they are greeted by a nurse, who recognizes Baekhyun and immediately leads them inside the clinic, where a young ,nearly bald, man -who looks around their age- in a doctor's blouse takes Zero away from them.

Taeyeon watches the vet and her dog disappear, as her urge to cry comes back again. But it seems like Baekhyun realizes that first, because the next thing that she knows is that he wraps his arms around her, warming her heart with a hug.

She closes her eyes when he leans his head next to hers, and starts stroking her hair. This feeling, this amount of comfort and safety, Taeyeon wants it to last, Taeyeon wishes for herself to always be in it. So she raises her arms, holding onto his shirt as she swims into the ocean of his cologne.

Later on, Baekhyun makes her sit on one of the chairs and kneels down in front of her, gazing at her and asking, "Do you need anything?".

Taeyeon spares a glance at him, smiling through the drying tears and shaking her head no. He nods that he understood and stands up, patting her head. "I'll be back."

That's the last thing she remembers before tiredness forces her to sleep.

Taeyeon opens her eyes, sunlight wishing her "good morning". She first notices that the ceiling is unfamiliar, which makes her sit up abruptly. Looking around -after she remarks that there are three doors and that the bed, carpet and two nightstands are the only things that are in the room-, she realizes that she's in one of the penthouses of her building, just not hers, especially because of the view outside the window.

"Seems like your mother is awake." Taeyeon turns around to see Baekhyun standing at the door, with Zero in his arms, looking as lively as he could ever be. He jumps to the bed, approaching her. She pushes a genuine smile, picking the dog in her arms. "I was worried. Thank god you're alright."

"Kyungsoo said that he ate chocolate." Baekhyun says, rubbing the back of his neck.

Taeyeon knows it's her fault; she must have left chocolate on the counter after breakfast, but she ignores and doesn't overthink it because what matters to her right now, is that Zero is still alive, with her, and seems happy.
