008
"Is Zero okay?" Irene asks as she slips out of her shoes, wearing slippers and following Taeyeon. "I've seen in the news that he was hospitalized."
Taeyeon nods, throwing herself on the couch. "He ate chocolate."
"I see." Irene sits next to Taeyeon, dropping her bag next to the low table. "But I am still surprised at the fact that your dog was on the news."
"Zero is an artist too, you know?"
Irene chuckles, "Yeah, you're right. That's why he walks so confidently." She nudges Taeyeon towards him, who is indeed strutting as he comes near them.
"He missed you." Taeyeon comments when he jumps on Irene's lap,who hugs him.
"How's your studies recently?" She eventually questions, breaking the comfortable silence that made the place feel cozy.
"Good," Irene nods smiling, "no major progress but I think that I will be able to satisfy my parents very soon."
"Good luck then." Taeyeon wishes, stretching her hand to reach the remote-control, and turns on the television.
"By the way," Irene starts, putting up her legs on the table. "Don't you feel cold?" She eyes Taeyeon's body, pointing at her legs.
Taeyeon looks down at herself, just realizing that she's only wearing an over-sized tee and her mini-socks. "It's alright, I don't feel cold." She lazily speaks, thinking about food.
She hasn't dieted since last year, she only depended on workout; but now that she took a break from exercise, she has to watch what she eats and make sure she doesn't gain weight. I should go back to workout asap.
The bell rings, drawing Taeyeon out of her thoughts as she glances at Irene, who sits up, curiously asking "Who could it be? It's nearly nighttime."
"I don't know." Taeyeon utters, raising up to her feet and walking to the door. "By the way, I'm going out after half an hour so I count on you to keep an eye on Zero." She quickly informs her before opening the door, peeking at who it is.
When she sees Baekhyun, she swings the door open, waiting for him to speak. "Um," He raises his hand, scratching the side of his neck. "You dropped this in my car that day." He opens his palm, revealing the small ring box she received last week.
"God!" Taeyeon gasps, taking the box. "I haven't even noticed that." She opens it, looking at the ring before lifting her gaze, meeting his. "This gift is precious. Thank you for giving it back."
"It's alright." Baekhyun shoves his left hand in his pocket, bringing up the other one, glimpsing at the watch on his wrist. "Are we still supposed to go out? I mean-I'm super tired right now."
Taeyeon studies him, and he looks really tired, but not to the point where he won't be able to go with her to the club. "I won't take that as an excuse." She rejects his attempt on cancelling the outing, crossing her arms over her chest. "Plus, it will only last for like fifteen minutes."
He nods, averting his gaze to the side. "And won't you tell me where are we going?"
"No."
"Then how am I supposed to know what to wear?" Baekhyun inquires, putting his hand against the door.
