Twelve

Two more days until she got to see Joey. It was unbearable, but she was so looking forward to getting to see him again. And hug him. And kiss him. And, well...

She made cookies to make herself feel better. Baking always distracted her, and she forgot to be sad about missing Joey and was able to focus on how excited she was about him coming home. She was in such a good mood that she offered a cookie to the person who was there again to deliver her gifts (hoping that it also served as an apology for him having to bring flowers to their house every day for two weeks).

She sat down on the couch to read the letter, stretching her legs out and feeling the strangeness of not having Joey there to put her feet up on.

Dear Lo,

Twelve is the number of shows we've been in together. Official shows, anyway. I know we've done countless conventions and we've been on tour and you agreed to be in the Tin Can Brothers' stupid sketch show. So I guess that's quite a lot more than twelve. Okay, maybe I just couldn't think of anything for this letter. SO SUE ME. What I actually want to say is, it has been a pleasure to work with you. You are an incredibly talented actor, you're versatile and reliable, and your comedic timing is insane. It may be very easy to make you break which makes everyone want to kill you just a little bit, but you're a very valuable member of any cast and we're so  lucky that we get to keep you and you haven't been snatched away by Broadway or by some big TV show.

Every time I watch you on stage, but especially when I'm performing with you, I get a surge of pride. You are so amazing, and I hope you keep on being successful because you deserve the world.

Love Jojo xxx

'My ego is going to be ten times as big by the end of these two weeks' she texted.

'Good. You're too modest anyway' he typed back.

'I would say something nice back to you, but you definitely don't need the ego boost'

His only response was the cry laughing emoji, and she smiled at the thought of making him laugh even when she couldn't hear him.

A/N This one was more of a commentary on my writing process because at first I was like 'oh I've only got to think of things for fourteen numbers, this will be easy'. And then I thought of about ten (not in order) and got desperate. Which is why some of these chapters are very clearly worse than the others. Sorry 🤷🏻‍♀️
