Chapter two: What's going on?

School was out for today. I headed to my new locker to go get my stuff and pack the books I needed to study for tomorrow when I accidentally bumped into someone.

Adrien Agreste......I bumped into Adrien Agreste. Oh no no no no no no no, couldn't I have bumped into anyone else?!,

"Uh-oh I'm so sorry" I said quickly, my heart racing.

Hey! My heart can race without me being infatuated okay. I'm just a nervous girl who doesn't always get out exactly what she's trying to say. "I think that the queen of 'clumsy' now has a new faithful servant" that brat Chloe said.

"Seriously Chloe?" Adrien told her in an unapproving tone before he turned to me with a soft smile. "it's okay (y/n)" he said "don't listen to what Chloe says" loud enough for the blonde to hear who gave an irritated groan and called out for Sabrina, who was right next to her and left class, giving me a cold glare before doing so. I gave a small sigh.

Adrien patted my shoulder, gave me one more smile and left, him also going in his own direction. I'm not sure but when he patted my shoulder I could feel my heart skip a beat. I don't really know why because I was very sure that I didn't like Adrien. Okay yeah he was cute and all and could make you blush if you looked too long in his typical green eyes which most described as 'emerald green'.

I was snapped out of my thoughts by someone calling my name. "Hey (y/n), wait up!" I turned to see who it was to find the girl whom I learned was named Marinette running to my dire- wait.......did I seriously already get my stuff from my locker and start heading home whiles thinking of Adrien? I shuddered as I felt a chill go through my spine and tried to shake that thought off.

Marinette caught up with me and smiled politely. "Uuh hey, is everything alright?" I asked giving her a bit of a confused look.
"What? Oh right.....no I mean yes, I just wanted to say thanks for earlier" she explained. Oh yeah I helped her with a hint earlier during language class when she seemed a bit dazed.

"No problem" I assured with a small smile and started heading for home.

"Uh wa-wait! I mean would you like to meet up later? we could go do something fun?", I was a bit surprised at both when I started walking that she kept walking beside me and that question.

"No thank you, I was planning to stay home and study a bit for tomorrow" I said but quickly added "but if you'd still be up for it we can do that on Friday or something?...", it wouldn't hurt to make new friends now... would it?

"Yeah, okay. I can show you around" she said, her face lighting up as she said that. It didn't take too long after she said that that I stopped walking. "You know you didn't have to walk me all the way to my house" I told Marinette  and could see her surprised features, I don't think she even noticed that she had been walking me home. " Well...see ya tomorrow" I said, quickly giving her a small wave and walking up my porch to enter my house.

'Pfeew' I thought relieved, not that it was that bad but I couldn't stop having that thought that if it wasn't for that hint I gave her we wouldn't even be talking..... Ohwell.

Marinette's POV

I watched as (y/n) gave me a small wave of goodbye, walked up her porch and entered her house.

"Hmmm.... She seems nice. Wouldn't hurt making a new friend before leaving right?" I asked Tikki as I started to make my way home. To anyone who would be looking right now, they would think that I'm talking to my purse. "Yes but Marinette I think you forgot one major thing. How are you going to be Ladybug and save Paris from all the way in CHINA?!".

I opened my mouth to respond to Tikki because she did have a point, when I heard a loud noise. "I will answer that question as soon as I figure out what that was" I said looking at Tikki. "Just say the words" she said with a grin on her face.
