Chapter eight: There's a first time for everything

Reader's POV

"HOLD ON!" I yell as I chase after the catlike clad boy.

I landed on the concrete, this time being more careful, just to see a black blur pass by me. Turning to see what the heck that was, I recognise the- You know what, let's call him cat boy. I recognised cat boy almost immediately and sprinted to where he was down on the floor trying to get back on his feet.

"Are you okay!?" I ask, helping him up.

"look out!" he yells tackling me down as something blasted past where I was just standing seconds ago. So much for me trying to be careful with my injuries. "Aarfgh.." I let out as I made contact with the hard ground.

"That question should be asked by me now don't you think?" he asks me with a grin on his face.

REALLY. NOW?

"And the answer would be yes if you get off me!" I struggled.

"Here...," he says as he helps me up.

"Thanks, what's going on though?" I asked looking in the direction where the blasts just came from.

"Ladybug and Cat Noir give me your miraculouses or watch as your town turns into the city of smoke and ash!"

A man yelled as he started blasting bolts out of his gloved hands, the bolts causing a huge amount of smoke wherever they came in contact with. As I took in his appearance I noticed that he wore a bracelet which seemed to stand out the most out of his whole outfit, if you looked keenly that is.

"I don't think so Inferno!" someone yelled from on top a building causing me to turn my attention to whoever the voice belonged to.

As I turned I saw a girl clad in a red polka dotted suit wearing a mask which matched with the suit and was swinging a yo yo that... also...matched with the uuhm.... Suit.

"Ladybug?" I heard cat boy question not too far away from me.

She briefly scanned the crowd below and as her gaze met mine I could see a frown flash across her face before she jumped and swung her yo yo in attack towards the "inferno" dude as she landed next to cat boy.

"I need everyone to clear out of this place... Now!" she told the remaining people that crowded the area to either see or record what was going on, and they obeyed without hesitation running away from here.

"And who are you?" she asked me walking towards me in a defensive way.

"Hey now wait a minute!" cat boy says coming to where Ladybug and I are. "What's up with the defensive stand against her...huh?"

"Oh I don't know, maybe the fact that she could also be one of Hawkmoths akumatised victims" Ladybug responded giving me a once over and squinting her eyes at me expecting me to say something.

Why do I sense an argument coming up.

"Oh 'cause you're always right aren't you?" cat boy responds, annoyance present in his voice.

"What's up with you Cat Noir? Why are you acting like Volpina never happened?"

Cat... Noir....

"Well she did happen but she's gone now and didn't notify anyone before deciding to leave. Looks like you guys have something in common now don't you" Cat... Noir shot back, his annoyance subsiding into anger.

"Uuhm guys?" I said as I saw Inferno had stopped blasting the town with his bolts because he noticed the arguing pair and started heading towards us.

"Cat Noir," Ladybug groaned "not this now please"

"Oh then when?! Atleast I can pick a time where I have the chance to get something off my chest!"
