Reader's POV
I quickly covered my eyes as a reflex in response to the bright light. I lowered my hands after the light dimmed and vanished to see what really just happened.
Instead of seeing something like a 'flashlight prank' or so, I see a flying, greenish looking........REPTILE?!
Surprisingly, alternative to taking the first thing in sight and throwing it at it. I froze.
"Heey," it started, stretching "how you doing?"
No...way.
"What the heck!" I shrieked, grabbing my pillow and throwing it at it but it dodged. While thinking about the fact that I missed it I was in a dilemma whether to run or try to kill it with something else.
"Hello?...sorry did I startle you?". Did...It just talk... again? Yep... Kill it and run.
I tried again quickly throwing a shoe at it, even though I didn't expect that to kill it I think it would be enough of a headstart. I tried to make my way towards my room door to get downstairs to Abré but my body reminded me I just came from the hospital for a reason and instead ended up on the floor.
"Ow...ouw". Tears started swelling in my eyes as I gripped my legs. The lizard-ish looking flying thing started heading towards me. "Are you okay?",
I didn't respond because I....honestly there's a flying, lizard talking to me."(Y/N) are you alright? What's going on up there?". Yes finally. help. I wanted to shout and alarm Abré that I needed her but the flying reptile looked shocked and shook its head in fright and placed its tiny claw... paw thingy to its mouth. I wanted to call Abré so badly to come help me but I strangely started feeling bad for the lizard and instead yelled back "yeah i'm fine, there was just a bee in my room".
"Okay, be careful! And close your window then".
"okay!". The lizard let out a relieved sigh and I felt a wave of happiness in doing what I did.
"What are you?" I asked more abruptly than expected actually.
"Oh...how rude of me. I am a kwami" it smiled a bit and continued " to be precise 'your' kwami ". My eyes widened at what it just said.
" What?..what do you mean 'my' kwami and what is a 'khami' anyway?"
"A 'kwami'" it corrected me "is a mystical creature who is a companion to a chosen someone and we help give you powers to be a superhero".
I looked at the flying creature not knowing what to say or do. It flew back to the tiny box I dropped and brought out a golden bracelet. As he was returning and came closer I could see that it had a nice slight curl which closed it. When the creature brought it, it made a motion as if saying I should take it, so I did.
"uuhm....d-do you have a name?" I asked since I can't just be calling it 'flying creature' or 'it' all the time. It makes me sound inconsiderate. What? I care okay.
"Oh yes I didn't mention it earlier did I?" it chuckled "I'm Chamy".
"Chamy....I'm (y/n). I guess I'm kind of stuck with you, ay?" I asked tilting my head a bit to the side still trying to comprehend that I am talking to a flying lizard.
"Kind of, yeah" he said.
It was silent for a bit but then Chamy chirped in. "Soooo do you wanna try me out?"
I was kinda still freaked but also.... excited? Like is this actually happening? "Sure!," Chamy gave me a smile. "This is always fun! Just wear the bracelet" and say 'Camouflage me'."
"Camouflage me?" And there. Right there and then I felt something skin tight coming up from where I wore the bracelet spreading across my whole body. Naturally.... I yelped.
