Chapter Eight
-Sammy-
Find Me.

Find me.
The words mash and mingle together, as if an earthquake has dawned upon the Neverland, but I soon realise it's only my hand shaking violently that's making it blur. Pure anger and absolute fury is boiling my body from the inside out, so insanely intense that I slam the leaf down onto the ground and raise my leg high to squish it with my heel.
But my leg freezes in mid air when I spot something.
The leaf landed on its back-side, now showing me the other half of the leaf. There appears to be more scribbled words, but when I bend down to inspect it further, I gasp at my discovery.
She's drawn a map, I think, completely astounded. Oh, the cleverness of that girl.
I scan over it, seeing a clearly marked 'X' in the middle of a small spool. Landmarks are drawn in impressive detail, a thin trail for me to follow is painted out in, what I hate to say, blood. I nod with determination, stuffing the little map under a vine of my outfit, before springing out of the depressing area, and flying towards the Underground Home.
The sun is just starting to peek out of the horizon, morning birds now warming up their sweet voices in the distance. I fly faster, wanting to leave a note for my parents before I leave, as I'm sure I'll be gone for most of the day. The last thing I need is them searching for me. I make it to the Underground home in record time, and I quickly scrawl a few letters onto a piece of parchment. I set it on my father's plate, knowing he'd find it eventually. The note was simple:
Out exploring, don't worry about me, send love to Mom.

I jumped up when I heard rusting of covers in the other room, shooting through one of the many tunnels out of the home. I pluck the map from my vine once more, glancing at it before determining my way. I followed the little map the best I could, turning here and there, biting my lip whenever I hear a foreign sound, my hand flitting to my dagger. About forty-five minutes of walking, flying, and running, I now face a dead end. I sigh, looking from my map, to the large mossy boulder infront of me.
According to her instruction, on the other side of this mountain, she should be right there. But how in Neverland am I going to get there? I walk up to the boulder, examining it carefully, patting it down for a soft spot, but it's all solid rock. I sigh once more, about to give up and find a way around it, when I trip over a root.
I swear quietly under my breath, then swear once more for swearing. I flip onto my back, rubbing my sore knee, before my eyes land on a spot,my ankle still wrapped in grassy root. Where the root should be attached to a tree, it's not. Instead it leads under a part of the boulder covered heavily in moss, as if it's wearing a curtain of green grass. I grab onto the root, following it until I'm pressed against the rock. I tighten my grasp around it, sucking in a deep breath before tugging onto it with all the strength I could muster.
I fall backwards as a small chunk of the boulder raises up, revieling a passage into a cave. I crawl towards it, ducking my head inside a little bit and listening...
Shhhh, plop plop, grrrrrgle, grrrrrgle, shhhhhh....
The faint sound of a waterfall makes me cry out with joy. I've found it! The passage through the mountain! I snatch the map up off the ground, placing it back under my vine, and crawl through the opening which is just large enough to squeeze my body through. Once I'm completely submerged into the dark cave, the temperature drops noticeably as the sun's early rays are cut off from my skin.
